Pride Air Conditioning Nightmare service Pompano Beach Florida
How can this company get these positive reviews on their web site, somethings wrong here. I just moved from my home in Miami that I live in for 16 years and we had Total Repair as our service provider for the entire complex that I lived in. If we had aa air conditioner problem at any time week days or weekends, even holiday they were there within 24 hours. My first service call when we moved into our home in Delray Beach was to have Pride Air Conditioning check my system out.
The service tech came in with no tools and asked whats the problem. I explained that I wanted my system checked out due to the fact that we just moved in. I had a service contract with them and he proceeded to go outside and look at the Compressor on the side of the house. He did not go up into the attic where my blower and coils are located. He came back in 5 minutes and said my coils needed cleaning. He said it would be $450.00 because my contract does not cover coil cleaning. I told him no, and he left.
I sent a complaint to the office of Pride about this and never heard from them. I then look up on Angies List for a recomended Air Condition repair company. I found one and called them to give me a checkup on my Air conditioner. The serviceman spent 45 minutes and made out a report. I did not tell him about the Pride service person saying I had dirty coils. After receiving his report I told him about the Pride serviceman telling me my coils were very dirty. He said nothing of the sort, they were perfecly clean and did not need cleaning.
A few months later I put in a service call for my sink food waste disposal that was clogged up. When I called them they had me on hold for more then 25 minutes and disconnecting me every 8-10 minutes that I had to call back again each time. Finally someone answered and said that it would be 8 days before I could have someone there. I complained to no avail and 8 days later I had my sink. You call this good service. No big deal right, however, the time I spent on the phone calling them and the time I spent waiting most of the day because they could not tell what time they were coming is very agravating.
Now this week my air conditioner went out on Friday night, I called service at 8:32 AM They had me on hold again for 15 minutes and disconnected me. I called back 2 more times, again they disconnected me again and again, finally after 44 minutes someone answered and told me the next opening she had was Monday. She could not tell me what time on Monday. I told her that was not acceptable. She said thats the best she can do. I called Monday morning again (after 3 days and nights of 86 degree temp in our home) and again they had me on hold again dropping my line off several times.
Almost 4 days without Air this is getting real frushtrating. The customer service person finally answered after 15 minutes on hold said that someone would be here between 2 and 6 if they did not have a major problem to deal with. Our area here in Delray Beach has about 50% of the home owners that stay from January till April so this is the best time of the year for a service call. So why can we not get quicker service? Finally, the service person arrived and he replaced a circuit relay breaker that took 5 minutes.
This is a company that you do not want to do business with. I am looking for another company as soon as my contract expires.
