 Hello Rip Off Viewer.....Listen To A Battered Woman's Story:

This complaint is about the Public Storage facility at 1062 Saint Johns place in Brooklyn NY 11213.  I reserved  a 10 by 10  or at least that is what I was mis-lead to believe. Only to find out the unit is actually and 9 and half by 9 and a half space. Why wasn't Hanna honest with me on the phone and more importantly when I showed up there in person in April to view the space?

 I contacted public storage to rent a 10 by 10. I went to view the 10 by 10. I saw a 10 by 10 on the first floor in April. Hanna said nothing on that day about the unit being Approximately a 10 by 10. Had she said that I would have asked her to explain that so I can know if my belonging will fit into the space. Hanna made no mention of that.  Hanna told me in the latter part of April I could not reserve the spot I had to wait a week or two before I would move in to reserve the spot. I’m not sure what was the purpose of coming in to look if I couldn't reserve the unit…….On May 11 around 12 noon I arrived at the facility to move in. The movers went upstairs to the 4 floor to view the space. The movers  told me all of my items would not fit in the space. I was in a state of shock…………..

 Why didn't Hanna contact me in advance about her too small dirty dusty smelly units when she noticed on her inventory list that they were the only ones she had if indeed they were the only ones she had……… I would have had more time to choose a different location………..I arrived at the facility May 11, 2015. Hanna attitude was Horrible. Hanna's customer service was terrible. She took me up to the fourth floor to show me the room my belongings would be stored in. The space was unclean dusty and had a funny smell of moth balls. I asked her what other unit did she have she took me to the fifth floor to look at yet another old dusty funny smelling unit. Hanna  told me that would be my unit. I asked her who made that decision. Hanna said the employees make that decision. I stated to Hanna the unit I reserved was much cleaner than these and did not have a funny smell nor where they up high in the building. I explained to Hanna I have some health issues and also would not rent a unit that has no climate control. 

I asked Hanna were the units climate control. Hanna said the 4th floor was not and the 5 floor was. Hanna  also said the 5th floor unit did not come with the dollar move in special but that it was climate control. At this point I starting to realize that Hanna was set me up to take advantage of my situation. Hanna's moves all very calculated and well planned. I was getting more and more frustrated with Hanna.  I requested to speak with her supervisor.  Hanna refused initially to provided any assistance with speaking to her manager to resolve this issue. She insisted that she didn't know how to contact her supervisor nor had any number for anyone in authority over her. Hanna insisted that I contact the 1800 # I asked Hanna why she was telling me to do that knowing it would only route me back into this facility located at Saint Johns Place where I have a reservation.

I reluctantly called the 1 800 # and for certain it routed me right back into the office so by now I and Hanna are standing there listening to my call ringing inside on the office phone. Humiliation and disrespect no regards for my money or earning my business. I then said to HannaI called your 1 800 # and you see if it rings right back into you office. I then said to Hanna since you know what prompts to press why don’t you call the 1 800 # number and get a manager on the phone. Sure enough when Hanna call turns out she knew exactly how to get someone on the phone. So when I first asked to speak to her manager she was giving me a hard time and refuse to help or provide her bosses information. Hanna got customer service on the phone a representative by the name of Flor #7157 I spoke with in the public storage call center. Flor #7157 provided me with the manager and district managers phone number.

I called Edward manager and Ravinder district manager for two hours niether one answered the phone. The movers were standing around outside frustrated  because they couldn't start the job knowing the space was too small. Hanna listen while  I explained to Flor #7157 how she Hanna treated me how they false advertised the space. How the space was too small to fit my belongings and how Hanna showed little interest in getting her manager on the phone before the issue escalated. During the time I was on the phone reporting my experience with public storage I was looking directly at Hanna…..she was their rolling her eyes  more and making all sort of gestures towards the other representative in the office showing disapproval for my right to find someone to rectify the situation so I could get the items moved into the unit and pay the movers so they could finally leave. Ms Hanna was quite angry with me going over her head.

Ms Hanna did not want her superiors to know what she did. I was set up for failure by Hanna public storage personnel. I explained to her I needed a 10 by 10 I trusted public storage to provide me with a unit big enough to fit my belongings. I went in and looked at the unit. The unit Hanna showed me looked big enough and clean enough on that day. However when I showed up on May 11th everything had changed. When I could not get anyone to answer my calls Edward nor Ravinder, I felt desperate then called 911 to request a officer to show up to rectify the situation. My belonging were sitting outside on the side walk in front of public storage. Ms Hanna behaved as though she had a vendetta against me.  Two officers showed up officer Rocke 5976 was not in the least bit interested in trying to solve this matter. 

The officer told me that  this was a civil matter. The police officer did nothing to resolve the issue. He didn't advise Hanna to get her supervisor on the phone he did not inquiry about why they told me something different on the phone from what I was now looking at. However what the officer did do was inform Hanna to contact them if I get aggressive they would be back in a flash to arrest me. This is the type of humiliation Pulbic Storage partakes in now for potential customers. Edward manager and Ravinder based off of what Hanna told them on the phone and perhaps email them Manager Edward and Ravinder told Hanna to cancel my lease and refund my money. Knowing that my items were sitting outside on the side walk. The also told Hanna to inform me that they wanted me off their property. Meanwhile the movers are threatening me to leave, and leave my belonging sitting out on the street. Two hours have gone by it is getting closer to the place closing. The managers Edward and Ravinder deliberately waited until 4:00 o'clock to finally answer the phone I wasnt ready for what came next.

Edward and Ravinder came up with a plan to put the rest of my belongings in the other storage space at an additional 329.00 dollars a month. By now I have two units one that I sgined up for and told my things would fit at a price of 318.00 dollars and another one that I have been con into after lies and deception for an additional 329.00 dollars. This is the suggestion Edward and Ravinder came up with. Pretty convinent Uhh. They knew fully well what they were doing. They beat down the clock knowing that I would have no other alternative but to put my belonging into two units. Had they contacted me at least a hour after I first tired calling them this problem would have been resolved.  And So the managers knowing that I had no other alternative at that point I was forced into getting 2 dirty smelly units to put my belonging when initially I signed up for One. That’s it……that’s all I needed was for Hanna to do business properly and give me what I paid for.

I also remember speaking to a representative on the phone about a 10 by 15 renting at 1062 Saint Johns place as a matter of fact the representative stated that a 10 by 15 would be on reserve for me on my move in date May 11, 2015. I want this matter resolve immediately. I refuse to pay two storage fees because public storage was not honest with their unit size. I will not allow this to continue with out taking it to a higher level. I also spied the facility has roaches. Roaches!!!! Roaches!!!!! I certainly did not sign up for that. The unit Hanna showed me in  April appeared to be clean. I didn't see any problems with insects. I want this matter resolved immediately.

I will not be paying for two spaces when I was promised a unit that would fit my belonging. Not to mention the fact that this whole ugly ordeal lasted so long I missed another important storage appointment in the Bronx which now may have fallen through since I was unable to show up at the facility. I want to be compensated for the deception humiliation poor customer service and treats to have me arrested for what and lastly asked to leave the property knowing my things were sitting outside on the street………. if anyone should have been threaten to be arrested it should have been Hanna and who ever else is supporting her lying to the public. I traveled from far, central jersey yesterday with a truck fully loaded only to run into a HORRIBLE SITUATION……… I want some answers ASAP……………Or if I have to take this matter up in civil court I surely will……

Resolution I want public storage to either refund the 1100.00 dollars it cost me to move into their too little dirty smelly bug infested unit or relocate my belongings to a unit that is the correct size and clean at the price we discussed on the phone…….
