Quality Auto Parts is designed to defraud Internet consumer patrons. I recently purchased an automobile engine after having my mechanic speak with the representatives of the company. The engine arrived but was clearly an old rusty and dysfunctional product. I immediately contacted the company's representatives and demanded assistance.
Pursuant to the warranty agreement, it was required that my mechanic write a report providing his confirmation of his findings, which he did. It became apparent that Quality Auto Parts operates it's business operations relying on the consumers unwillingness to go through the arduous efforts required to verify the products defective features, yet in my case, everything was done in conformance with the Uniform Commercial Code and in an effort to provide Quality Auto Parts with the opportunity to meet it's obligation to provide "a product which functions in a manner for which it was designed".
Here's the catch! Quality Auto Parts requires that the part be returned, checked out by "their" personnel, and then, and only then "you might" receive a refund of your purchase price, reduced by the shipping price for the products return. SO, now the consumer is out of pocket ($1500.00 in my case) and has released the product to the company and the consumer must hope that Quality Auto Parts will, in deed, honor it,s lawful obligations.
In this scenario, the consumer has now lost, not only their initial purchase money, but the consumer has been tricked into returning the only evidence required to prove a case for fraud and deceptive trade practices.
I am a licensed attorney and have planned to pursue litigation against Quality Auto Parts but am currently having difficulty finding out just who exactly they are and who serves as the company's registered agent in Illinois for acceptance of service in civil litigation.
I have kept my evidence which will clearly serve to prove that the product purchased is defective. I don't mean that there is a product that may have reasonably been mistakenly remitted in good faith. I mean an engine which anyone could see was NOT going to function.
Quality Auto parts is simply a "call center" with representatives located "offshore". They basically locate parts from junkyards anywhere and everywhere in the U.S. and have no quality control protocols to insure that these junk yards actually provide the parts purchased.
The business functions with one primary directive. The consumer per-pays the purchase price, a piece of junk is delivered and the alleged "warranty" promised to entice the consumers trust and reliance is non existent.
It is my belief that Quality Auto Parts is designed for the specific purpose of defrauding its customers with an existence in "the cloud" which may make pursuing any remedial action very difficult.
I advise that no one ever utilize these services and hope that I might soon discover a proper business address and registered agent in order that I may retrieve a proper reimbursement and ask the Court to award punitive damages against Quality Auto Parts in hope that such an award might deter their deceptive business practices.
I request anyone harmed to contact the consumer affairs division of the Illinois Attorney Generals Office.
Best Wishes.

forgot to mention warranty

Below is the last part of their warranty; while the rep was on the phone, he told me if the part is bad there is no shipping cost associated with the return of the item, only when there is a refund involved. When I quoted the warranty directly and said that it says "or" replacement, he tried to tell me it wasn't what it meant. (see below in " ")
Since he said he'd been doing this business for nine and a half years I asked him if he'd send me a written email stating that if there is a problem with the part (in this case and engine), and it needs to be sent back to them, there will be no charge for shipping...he said he would talk to his superior and see if it could be done and would get back to me within a couple hours.
"... Items returned to Quality Auto Parts will be forwarded to the correct address listed on the RMA instructions, at the customers expense. Once the item is returned we will gladly issue a full refund on the original purchase price or send a replacement part. Once the item is returned it will be inspected and upon approval a credit request will be forwarded to accounting. Customer refunds are issued once the returned part has been verified and inspected.
"We stand behind our warranties and want to make you, our customer, at ease when purchasing a used auto part. If you have any questions feel free to call us at 866 293 3731 Option#2"
We'll see what they are willing to put into writing.

Checked out whois

started a search based on your situation. one report states that AT&T has no listing in Chicago for Quality Auto Parts. and that the address listed on the website, shows an apartment building when using google streetview. Whois.com says, at least until November 28, 2013, Sapan Shahani, is the owner, at 2504 N Pennwood Court, Round Lake Beach, Illinois, 60073 which shows a two-story home using google streetview. since www.ripoffreport.com published someone's complaint about Quality Auto Parts, a response from someone at Quality Auto Parts shows the address for the company as 7420 Hitt Road, Suite B, Mobile, Alabama 36695; where google streetview shows three storefronts, and a sign, "Gulf Coast Therapy."
I also started to search using another company, Cortera.com, (http://start.cortera.com/company/research/k8s2pwo2m/quality-auto-parts/) but when the "terms and conditions" got too complex for my Lyme mind, I stopped. this just reminds me of another company I dealt with that had multiple phone nunmbers and addresses and even where "employees" didn't know if they were "owners" or not. they were a ripoff as well. until you can get whoever this "Sapan Shahani" is, to respond to you, it will be just spinning your wheels. I'm hoping i can cancel my order with QAP before it goes too far.
