i had tried to use quibids auctions and realized quite a few things. i will start with my problem. i had been bidding on an item called the flip slide (a very small camcorder) i was determined to win this item so i did not wait for the last second. i bid every time someone else did leaving me in the winning spot waiting for the 10 seconds to run off. finally on the last bid i see my name and 10 seconds start to run off with my name right there and with NO break in the computer at all 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 SOLD!!  one problem, when the sold popped on it also came with someone else's name! i contacted quibids immediately about this. now i tell them i do not want my bids back. i was bidding and said take a look and you will see the bid history i stayed in front and wanted this item and would have continued to stay in front. i had a winning bid of $38.38 when the sold appeared it was at $38.40 a 2 cent difference. with so much time and effort i was prepared to go much higher.  they told me at first sorry it looked fine to us. after my next email the say "we are taking your word for it"  but we will not sell it to you. we can give you bids. now i have lost plenty of money with quibids and i understand when your trying to get a good deal that is sometimes the name of the game. i have no problem with that but when i actually WIN i want the ITEM, NOT more bids that i might just lose again. yes i understand the other bidder how ever he got this mystery bid in (hopefully he exists and this isn't a bigger scam than i think) he was sold the item for $38.40 which is a saving of over $200 but i also know that at $38.40 at 2 cents a bid there were 1,920 bids!! 1,920 bids x 60cents a bid = $1250 that quibids generates i know if you average what i have won and what i have lost i am down. which is ok. BUT when you win, shouldn't you get what you bid on and not just more bids to give back??? ALSO good luck trying to reach them at their dead end phone line. apparently this multi million dollar company cant fix there lines and all you will ever get is "experiencing technical difficulties" i had a few emails and when i brought that up i never received another response. i guess if there is ever a "problem" even if they "take your word for it" the customer is not worth making things right.... i told them i would share the story of how i was treated and i guess they figured the word of one man doesn't mean much to their big company. well we will see. i will be happy if i save one person the same slap in the face......

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience, but can assure you that you did not get scammed.  We are a legitimate online auction site.  The winner is determined by the last bid that comes through our servers... with that said, very rarely we experience the display to be a little off (display showing who's winning or the order of bidders).  Meaning, although it may show you're the winner, it very well could be another user.  That may have been the case.  Either way, we were happy to resolve the situation by issuing your bids/money back.  If you decide we are not a good fit for you, we understand.  You can always send us a ticket about your unused bids and we'll be happy to refund those.

I would definitely say you got ripped off like so many of us.  They can sit here and defend their site but they can't back up claims.  I've had a few people ask me about this since I'm in the Internet business and I've suggested to all of them to stay away, this site is a big rip-off.  I've even had auctions count down and when it should have said SOLD, there was at least a 5 sec gap when the bid was reset and someone else was winning.  There has to be some trapping going on behind the scenes no matter how much they dispute our claims it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this site rips people off.  And when they say they lose money on over half of their auctions.  I doubt that very seriously.  I dumped my account and still had like 100 bids left and expected them to be refunded but they just kept my money.  This type of scam should be against the law and be prosecuted bu the Attorney General of the sate of the person being ripped off but too many are not up to speed on this type of scam and how to prosecute it.
