QWEST: The Spirit of Morons.

We have lived for over 20 years in the third world and never experienced such an incompetence with a phone company like QWest.

When our phone line died on 8/09/2005 we went to a friend's house to call their repair service. after staying on hold for 53 minutes, the answer was: you have to wait until 8/17/2005. No apologies, like it it a standard time frame to wait over a week for a technician to check what is wrong with the phone.

Our phone box is in the backyard, we have to keep it locked due to repeated burglaries. I explained that I would have to take the week off since they were not even able to say when exactly someone would show up. The answer was: "sorry, that's the way how we work".

Finally someone showed up to fix the phone. The technician explained that he had bypassed the "UTC". Phone worked for aproximately 2.5 hours and died. Called QWest. On hold for 38 minutes. Next repair attempt lasted for about 1 hour. Called QWest again. On hold for 41 minutes. After some hours the phone rang, automated message, we should call QWest if still any problems. Line went dead after about an hour.

Called QWest. On hold for "dispatch" for 29 minutes. When technician showed up he explained that first technician had not disconnected the UTC. Technician disconnected UTC. So far our phone has been working for almost 10 hours without any problems....

Response to Phone Serv Out per water leak

AUTHOR: Donald - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 17, 2006

Qwest is only required by law to bring the phone service to the SNI (network interface box) on the outside of a residence. From that point on any wiring or jack problems are considered consumer responsibility. Even if a rental, the repair of those services would be determined by the leasing agreement. It seems that your daughter's landlore does not cover the jack hence referring her to Qwest to get it installed. Since the inside wiring is consumer responsibility, Qwest had every right to charge for the time she could not use the phone. It was not the fault of Qwest that it was not going to be working. They had a product that was working fine up to the network box and was incurring expense to keep it there. Its like having cable tv but your tv blows up but you want your cable company to credit you until you can get a new tv.

Qwest Sales Pitch

AUTHOR: Joyce - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 24, 2005

As I wrote my previous response. My daughter called and told me that she received two solicitations from Qwest to come back. One by phone (she has a landline and a cell) and one by mail.

I cannot repeat what she told Qwest or I will be barred from this site. LOL!

Qwest demands triple payments

AUTHOR: Joyce - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 24, 2005

My daughter just received her final Qwest bill. She was told to pay $84.94. Yesterday, my daughter received a collection notice from a collection agency demanding $211.03. My daughter contacted Qwest and was told that the final bill amount will not be considered, but they will consider the payment of $211.03.

My daughter told them a blind hog will see his butthole before she pays anything. My daughter faxed both bills to the Public Utilities Commission and told them to tell the crooks at Qwest that she is not paying anything and if she ever receive any statement demanding money from her she will go to the news media with her documentation of their illegal business practices when she worked at Qwest.

This should be good.

Qwest: Too stupid to be elevated to moron

AUTHOR: Joyce - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 18, 2005

My daughter had Qwest for her phone service. Lately, she would receive shocks thru the phone. She called Qwest and requested a repair. She was told that they would check the phone lines from their office. Yeah, right. Maybe that it was their procedure, who knows. Then my daughter spotted a wet spot on the carpet near the phone jack. So she contacted the maintenance dept. in her complex. There was a water leak coming from the apartment above her and it was shortaging out the phone jack.

My daughter was told that it would take at least a week to replace the drywall and other components of the wall and therefore, her phone will be out, but she can contact Qwest to install another jack. My daughter called Qwest and she was told that it would take about two weeks before someone would come out to install the phone jacks.

The CSR suggested that she can temporary suspend or disconnect the service until the work was completed. My daughter requested a temporary cell phone and she was refused. My daughter insisted on a month's credit because she would not have any service or not given a cell phone as requested. She was told by the CSR that she would receive a credit.

Those idiots totally disconnected her phone. She has no phone service and Qwest is telling her that she would have to sign up for new service and pay a $200.00 deposit. My daughter has purchased a cell phone, but when she gets the final bill, she is deducting the price of the cell phone (it is not Qwest) and is putting a stipulation on the back of the check that if they were to ever contact her by any means to get her to come back to Qwest, that they will pay her $500.00 per contact or if they don't pay, she will take them to court.

Follow-up: 42 cent credit for half a month out of service

AUTHOR: Stefan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 30, 2005

our phone line still has intermittend problems that Q-West is not able to fix but we received their bill as scheduled. For half a month without a phone, numerous hours on hold and a $ 5,- "Programming charge" from Dish Network (their computer determined that our satellite box was not "connected continuously to a working phone line" while our phone line was dead they credited our account the amount of $ 0.42.-

That's how much Q-West appreciates their customers.
