I purchased a Seiko watch, the watch is water resistant to 99 feet. I wore the watch for 6 days, never swam, never immersed my watch in water, simply showered each morning prior to going to work.
The watch filled with water, but since the watch has a warranty I sent it off to CONSERV the rep that repairs warranty claims for Seiko.
When I phoned today, I was told that the watch repair would be more then the cost of the actual watch. That although the watch is water resistant to 99 feet, that ONLY MEANS THAT IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN THE RAIN YOUR WATCH WILL BE OK.
So I've purchased a product that Seiko does not stand behind and they falsely advertise their product as being water resistant to 99 feet when it cannot withstand a daily shower.
I will NEVER purchase another Seiko product again and I will file a complaint with the BBB.

Not just an issue with Seiko

You could buy a $5 water resistant watch from WalMart. You could buy a $50,000 water resistant Rolex. Both will break if you regularly take them in the shower, as every watch maker in the world will tell you that if you regularly submerge a resistant watch, it will get water in it.
Before you buy another watch, I highly recommend educating yourself of the meaning of resistant, and again suggest you look into the difference between water resistant and water proof.

How long have you been employed by CONSERV/SEIKO?

Sounds like you are an employee of CONSERV or Seiko...good luck with that, if they treat the consumers as they have treated me, I can only imagine how they treat their employees.
Need I say it again...Water Resistant to 99 feet...I took a shower for 6 days...I didn't deep dive...FASLE ADVERTISEMENT...they need a class action lawsuit brought against them.

Your mistake is your own fault, as the watch wasn't falsely advertised. Every other "water-resistant" watch would break if you stood in a shower
There are water resistant watches and water proof watches. Resistant doesn't mean water can't get inside. It simply means at a little water shouldn't get inside, but if you leave it in a shower, water will get in. Just as fire resistant items still burn and shock resistant phone cases can break, water resistant watches can get wet if you leave them in water.
If you want a shower watch, look for a diving watch, or some other watch that's advertised to be able to withstand constant water..
