I purchased a Home Warranty from Sensible Warranty.  I explained to Sonny, the Sales Associate that the A/C unit is more than 20 years old and asked if that is a problem.  He said no problem as long as it has been maintained.  I just purchased the home last year so I personally never performed maintenance in 2009 but did this year (2010) and everything came back in good working order.  Besides, being that I financed the home through FHA it would have to be working for them to approve the property.  Fast forward 3 months, it's the middle of summer and my A/C stopped working.  I called Sensible and they organized Anderson Plumbing and Heat to take a look at the unit. 

To summarize, the tech said that the unit was old and there was no way to find parts for it therefore he recommended replacing it.  I called Sensible to relay this information and they asked for the maintenance receipts and home inspection report which I submitted to them.  A couple of days later I get a call from Simon telling me they are unable to process my claim until I produce the maintenance records from 2009 which I already told them prior to purchasing the warranty I didn't do since I just moved in.  He then proceeded to tell me I need to find the prior homeowner and ask them to furnish the records since he can't do anything until I submit them.  I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB, New York Attorney General and pursuing legal action.  If anybody else has had any dealings with this company, please contact me.
