I ordered satellite internet service from SkywayUSA in Sept of 2007.
We chose to install ourselves, which was not difficult.
We spent 3 months trying to get our internet to work correctly. On their "end" it was working fine according to tech support, but I couldn't load a page. We have 3 computers in our house. Sometime I couldn't even load the skyway page.

The system used our phoneline, It was slower than our dial up, not faster. And I could never get our email to work properly. So in Dec 2007 I called them to cancel. I sent a letter canceling with specific instructions NOT to debit my acct for any further charges as these would be considered unauthorized charges. I talked with them again on Dec 20th when I called them again because I hadn't heard from them, yet they had shut down my service - so I know they had rec'd my letter.

They told me that I would owe them for the remaining months. I told them I wouldn't since the service was not what they had promised and I was essentially returning it - that I was a dissatisfied customer. I then requested something in writing stating what I would owe and how to return their equipment. I was told that they were too busy to do business by mail and they would never send me something in writing. I requested it again.

Today, Jan 17th, they have attempted to run through a charge on my account. I have contacted my bank to dispute the charge. With my letter, I have prove showing that I have requested that they not charge my acct further. I'm afraid that I also have proof that they rec'd the letter, since they did terminate my service. I have filed a report with the BBB.

Beware of skyway, less expensive isn't necessarily better. Not a tough act to follow for Hughes, which I now have and was a breeze to order, setup and now I can go online with ease (to file this report!).
