Letter emailed to company:

Nikki,
RE: ORDER #800187201

I got your name from the Better Business Bureau. It seems your company is infamous with them as well as with the RipOff. AND now I can see why.

Yesterday (2/7/06), I reluctantly attempted to try your software "registry cleaner" and was taken through several additional screens offering me "value added" services, which I tried carefully to step around, but to no avail.

Trying to purchase just the registry cleaner product and ending up being told that my order had been successfully processed AND included the extended download service (did not want) AND if your system has graciously added that service which I tried to opt out of, I wonder how many other things you have "sold" me. I thought it was odd that these additional services CLEARLY pointed out that they were "non-refundable".

You first offer a guaranteed refund policy on a product AND then offer "non-refundable value added products". CUTE. Of course the screen that thanks you for ordering OR misordering warns you "Please do NOT use your BACK button to make changes to your order; this would result in duplicate orders".

Soooo, let me see if I get this right. You walk me down the path with deceptive advertising, add some non-refundable services somehow, and when I go back to correct the mistake you double bill me. REALLY CUTE. YOUR COMPANY AND ALL ASSOCIATED WITH IT SHOULD BE RUN OUT OF TOWN. Better still OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

Your pop-ups and icons being placed on my desk top have irritated me for many months and now I have a better understanding of what your company views as "good aggressive marketing". I don't want any part of it.
Of course I can't check for 72 hours to see what you've sold me (funny that I can purchase and check on other sites almost immediately).

I tried your "hot line" and was told that my call would be answered in approximately 20 minutes (yah, like I'm going to stay on a cell phone for 20 minutes and have the battery go dead in the process. Nice tactic), and since your company does a temporary hold on my account rather than processing immediately, I can't have them stop payment yet. BUT I WILL.

Your methods of operation are less than honorable and I wish you a fast failure in your business. Life is too short to associate with dishonorable people. Have a good day.

PS. I don't like your software or your company and hereby want ALL of my money back which your company has charged or will try to charge in the future to my account. Any further correspondance from me will be through my lawyers.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide.
