Specialty Merchadise Corporation (SMC) provides a large catalog of products to sell and be drop shipped so that stock does not have to be kept on hand. The products appear to be decent, but don't expect anything of a high quality and all of their merchandise comes from China. If you deal with this company, expect to pay more for the convenience of being able to order from thousands of products in one place.

However you market the products, Do Not purchase any of their website packages. A refund is provided within 30 days of your credit card being charged, however, they do not release the website until 31 days after your card is charged. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they lied, stating that the website is release in 2 to 4 weeks. Supposedly, they create each website for the individual, but they actually use a software package that costs between $40 to $60. The only part of the website they "designed" was a single line that had three spelling errors.

I had asked specific questions about what I can do with the site, and they just said yes to everything. When I saw the site, it was not capable of doing half of what I wanted. For example, I asked if the website is a 100 item or 100 slot site and explained the difference. They said it was a 100 item site that allows me to list an item under multiple categories without using extra slots which turned out to be false.

When they finally let me talk to someone that was in charge of their servers, he could not answer any of my questions and simply talked about how good their "technology" is. He was not able to explain what that "technology" is.

I suggested providing me with a partial refund and the rest in credit since I was still interested in selling their products. They counteroffered by saying the were willing to reactivate my website for only $425.
Most recently, I have gotten tired of them sending me spam and providing my private information to spammers and have contacted them about it. They have been given the choice of either refunding my money or being reported to the Office of the Attorney General of California and the United States Federal Trade Commission.

The California Department of Justice was contacted about Specialty Merchandise Corporation trading my email and other personal information without permission. It did not take long for SMC to stop providing my information to spammers. SMC still owes me the money for the website that was supposedly designed for me personally, but was actually a cheap software package. In the meantime, I am working with two other companies that provide better websites for little or no money and have higher quality products.

Four years ago I became an affiliate with SMC. I have worked my butt off since then. I have done exactly what has been suggested to me and each quarter my earnings have steadily increased. Last quarter my earnings jumped from $10,579 to $73,004. I just do not understand how so many of you are not making any money at this. I assure you that it is not my "Brilliant Personality" that has made me a success. I simply followed a few suggestions from a Latino American from southern California of all places. Bless your hearts. I found it very difficult at first but when I stopped the negative thinking and started following suggestions my business took off like a SkyRocket....

When calling for information on SMC, you end up in AZ at SMC promotions, which is a LARGE BOILER ROOM of Sales People ready to GRAB your money -

When I called I was constantly interupted by the salesman, because his ONLY concern was to get my personal information, and as I ignored his requests, he became very hostile. He told me if I did not want to give hime my information then he can't answer any of my questions. "What kind of company is this" So I gave hime false information just to shut him up, then he asked for my Credit Card, I asked him WHY, I am not buying anything today, He said we use this for internal purposes only - I told hime NO, he got even more angry, so I just hung up.

I've read through all the filings in this report about SMC. I cannot believe the NAIVE of the people supporting SMC and MUST BELIEVE THAT ANY POSITIVE COMMENTS come from THE COMPANY ITSELF!!! The company has offices in Fontana, Calif., (near Chatsworth), so I'm sure the recent comments are valid and True.

I recently began "intimately" involved with SMC and at first was excited about the company's products. But once I got to know the intimate details of the company's inner workings, I KNEW IT WAS A FRAUD OR SOME SMOKESCREEN FOR FRAUD.

This is a company that hires HIGH SCHOOL PEOPLE AND PAY THEM EXORBITANT SUMS OF $$$ TO CON YOU INTO BUYING MEMBERSHIP. AT SMC PROMOTIONS EACH DAY AND NIGHT, you'd believe you were in an EMERGENCY ROOM!!! The SALESPEOPLE AND MANAGERS are FRANTIC FOR SALES...it is life and death to many of them, yes...because many people employed there are on the lowest strata of society. The key to success is to push...push...PUSH...PUSH...PUSH...PUSH...(NOTICE I SAID THAT 6 TIMES...THAT'S BECAUSE THERE ARE SIX REBUTTALS TO EVERY NO YOU GIVE ABOUT NOT BEING INTERESTED).

RIK AND A FEW OTHERS throughout were THE ONLY VOICE OF REASONS WITHIN THIS wilderness that SMC chose to create by injecting many of its posts. Look at the way they are written...look at the LENGTH...some of the so-called SMC "happy" vendors went to in order to convince you that they were valid, honest and true. WAKE UP FOLKS!!!! THAT IS PR!!! An outfit like this MUST have a decent-sized PR department with people whose SOLE job is to look and REFUTE NEGATIVE COMMENTS. After all, it's a CONSUMER PRODUCTS COMPANY...that's part of doing business and that's what PR departments get paid to do. (They also get paid to fill up BLOGS with positive comments about the comment, disguised as 'TRUTH" and fact).

Believe me, if you saw the people who SELL YOU INTO BELIEVING DOING BUSINESS WITH SMC IS A CINCH...YOU'D be ashamed of yourself for being talked into LISTENING..MUCH LESS INVESTING IN SMC.

THE COMPANY HIRES DESPERATE PEOPLE TO SELL TO OTHER DESPERATE PEOPLE. Believe me, most of the sales people are JUST AS DESPERATE, probably even more so than most of you who claim to be desperate. It takes DESPERATION FOR ANY OF THOSE SALESPEOPLE TO BUY INTO THE COMPANY'S SCAM without question. For behind the smokescreens, they KNOW THE TRUTH AND THEY FEEL THE TRUTH. THEY...like those naive ones of you, if legitimate consumers and not SMC employees... are not WILLING to FACE IT. If they did, they would be taking the food from out of the mouths of their babies, so they take it your food out of your mouth and your families.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU...BUT WAKE UP!!! Like RIK said, it's pretty much an MLM-type operation...the KEY IS SELLING MEMBERSHIP...not products, even though selling those every now and then is also nice.


AND I DON'T WANT TO GET ANY B.S. POST FROM AN SMC "EMPLOYEE" POSING AS a vendor. You guys need to be ashamed of yourself...advertising to poor, desperatet people and forcing them to buy a membership they don't need and really does them NO GOOD...HARD WORK OR NO d**n HARD WORK.
