Strayer University Listed an invalid balance on my student account and placed for collection on my credit report other Georgia

I was unable to attend classes as I had to take care of my grandmother. I must get her to and from the doctors/hospital. I spent many nights in the hospital. I am legally responsible for her under a Durable Power of Attorney. Also, I would do whatever it takes to help my grandmother. I out of curtesy contacted my success immediately when this occurred and he informed me to care for my grandmother and he would have my classes dropped and I would not owe any student balance. I even called the dean over the campus and she said that she was not going to adjust the balance. My balance is $1,995.00 and is listed on my credit report as collections. I am trying to do what is right care for my family, make a living, and obtain a good education to open opportunities. However, I can’t do that with my credit being bad. The attendance policy states that I’m not liable for the balance of $1,995.00 by the online campus section for family and serious medical reasons.
