Target After reading reports about customer service, I was reminded how I was treated at this store 2 years ago. Ponte Vedra Beach Florida

This store is located in a wealthy neighborhood south of Jacksonville Beach. It could be the reason I was treated poorly there since I'm not one of rich customers shopping there. Myself and my wife were shopping for a patio table set and a covered swinging bench in Dec of 2001 because I was going to be transfered to Hawaii since my tour in Jacksonville was going to be transfered in Feb of 2002. There were other customers sitting and trying out the comfort of the patio furniture. There were at least 6 other people trying trying out the furniture. There were about 3 different covered swinging chairs I liked and I wanted to make sure which one I liked most since I had cash on hand to by the furniture.

I like to sit outside in nice weather on the patio and grill food and relax and make sure I like what I bought since it would be hard to have a refund in Hawaii. It is funny how customer service people can never be found when a custmor wants assistance in a department in Target. Myself and my wife were on one of the chairs and deciding the one we were on was the one we liked best. As I was getting out of the chair a customer service representive was in my face telling this is not a lounge and get out of here.

This person appeared to be one of those preppy highschool kids that wanted to a power trip over a working class person. I tried to explain I was going to buy the patio furniture but was told he didn't care and said get out of my store. So I tried to go to the customer service to talk to a manager about the attitude but one of his friends blocked me and said if you don't leave I'll call the police.

So I left before things became worse. I was going to buy about $500.00 of furniture when I was run out of the store like a criminal. I even showed my military ID to prove I was not a bum off the street. I never shopped at a Target for the past 2 years. I never been folowed around a Wal-mart or K-mart treated with disrespect like a criminal.

They lost more than me buying pation furniture there. I was going to do my X-mas shopping there also that day until the CSR was in my face and being confrontational and saying they don't need my money. I don't know where some of these people get training but it appears their school teaches the customer is always wrong. It worked out for a reason since my tranfer to Hawaii was switched to Maine.

In Maine there is not much use for outdoor furniture since it is cold 6 months out of the year. I would not have been offended if the other people trying out the chairs were told not to sit there. Myself and my wife were singled out because we were not as nicely dressed in expensive clothes. Anyway I went to Wal-mart and spent my money on indoor furniture since I was going to Maine. I was so angry at that person I did not stay and write the name of the rude CSR too bad I did not so I could write the corporate office.
