Let me get this straight: you got a ticket for speeding. No where in your post do you indicate you were innocent; just that you had a spotless record and the details were sketchy.

First off: spotless records DO sometimes get blemishes. It's not a big deal.
Second: If you don't remember the details, they were "sketchy", then you're probably guilty of driving faster than the speed limit.
Third: If going to driving school was an option at less than the fine, with no points on your record, why would you spend $90 for a lawyer?
Fourth: What did the lawyer say to you? Did you call him/her to find out what was going on?
Fifth: If you were not in contact with him, what was he supposed to do other than plead "no contest" for you? Have you asked for a refund?

The whole Ticket Clinic sounds like a rip off place anyway, you could have probably handled it all yourself by pleading your spotless record in front of the judge, but considering that it was only $90, it was a fairly inexpensive lesson for you. NEXT time you'll do better! (and there probably will be a next time at some point in your driving career!)
