on april 8 i purchased an order total of $53.46 from .  i cancelled april 9.  I waited a week and still no money back on my card. I called and i was told it takes 10-14 days. I call two weeks later. I said i've waited the 14 days. I was told to wait 10-14 BUSINESS days. Ok today is may 8. ( a whole month later) still no money back.

I call and i get different answers of methods to contact the billing dept (aside of one rude not helpful person named michael / mike. the other guys are ok). well finally out of the 4 methods of contact. one of them worked.

I got an email stating i would get a refund of $42.77. Ok thats a progress. So I email and call again. And i was told they are not aware of people getting penalized for canceling. (because i thought maybe they do). Also I'm reading through their website and my original receipt. There is no penalty disclosure. [continued below]....

Now i'm hoping i really do get at least the $42 they promise. Either way they stiffed me with $10.69. But I rather get stiffed for $10 than $50. 

But let's get back to why i cancelled. I cancelled because a day and half went by and i still did not get my turtle. I paid for the next day delivery (1 day).  i called and i was told it would be a day after they can verify i "live" here because the visa i used had a different mailing address (p.o. box).

I asked the guy how many days would that take. he said it usually takes 5-7 business days.  that's when i decided to cancel and just buy me a turtle locally. I'm not going to pay for "next day" if really i'm lucky if i get it "next week."

My suggestion pay an extra $10 for the turtle. with an advantage of being able to:
1. see the turtle BEFORE buying it.
2. Have a better guarantee on the pet.
3. Being able to just show up at the store and actually talk to someone than having to call and hope you get help or wait around for an email.
4. You can pay cash and just get your money back right away. - because 14 BUSINESS days is ridiculous  maybe more b/c it's over 30 days and still no $$ for me- usually it should take 2-3 days.

Why is it my fault?

hey. if they dont do orders why in the heck accept orders?? that's retarded and  mayBE if that would have been notified before i paid then you would be right.. I mean seriously do you stop by customer service station and read all their policies before purchasing something?? no. i'm going to say majority of the population walks into a store buys the item and expects everything to be ok.  same wit online  orders we just pay and we as the consumer expect to get what we paid for  or else tell us. dont make us do the research.

I bet if you walked into the dealer and you paid for your car and then you expect your keys.. "oh, sorry mm we dont have your car available, we'll have a "green' one for you next week... ur going to want your money back because you U DIDNT know that.  so seriously if you're going to lecture me and the public how abot you do the same for them and tell them to not accept payments on those days AND if so for a pop up show up to tell us what you just told me . because apparently to you. dummies like me dont read the policies and sh*t so how about that. make it fair not just one sided.. OH! and another part of the bs was that it took OVER a month to get a portion of what i paid. it took them 30secs to charge.what is that about. huh? but whatever i still know they are all bad. and if you want to "void" my complaint. go ahead i'm sure another one will come along.

You didnt read up before you ordered...

Turtle shack only ships live turtles monday through thursday with the exception of saturday if you have prior arrangements. They also do not accept cancelations on live turtles for the fact that as soon as a shipping fay arrives they begin the process of pulling the turtle and prepping it for shipping. You placed yput ordet on april 8th, which was a sunday and therefore your turtle couldnt be shipped until monday, the day you canceled your order because it hadnt arrived, if you would of read up you would of know that it wouldnt ship until monday. Also this rip off report is void because it clearly states that cancelations on live animals will not be accepted and because you placed your order on a non shipping day.
