Two Men And A Truck of Charlotte, NC bilked us out of over $3000 in a household move from Ft Mill, SC to Mooresville, NC - about 50 miles. They quoted us $5375 for an estimated 16,000 lbs worth of goods, if they packed everything. Instead, we packed 50 boxes ourselves. They packed 36 of fragiles. We should have been charged about $4300 total. After a 17 hour day of moving on June 29 (blazing hot) they presented us a bill for $7657!!

I told them this was outrageous and we needed time to figure this out before I signed for the charges. The short story is they convinced me to sign for the charges that night with the understanding that we could work out the corrections with the office on the next business day.

That never happened. They didn't even have the decency to answer or return repeated calls on my part. We trusted them and they used that against us.

I subsequently went through the confusing bill and found that they were charging us for 191 boxes WITH PACKING CHARGES! They were also charging us for 23,000 lbs of goods. I asked for the certified weight ticket and they told me that the printer was broken at Love's truck stop and they got a "verbal" instead of a printed report.

I finally got a hold of a QA person at Two Men and she sent out two of their people to re-survey our goods. THEY agreed there was no way we had 23,000 pounds and that 16,000 lbs was more accurate. We also contacted the manager at Love's and he told us his scale and printer was working fine all day on June 29, 2007 and they had no record of Two Men And A Truck on that day. He also said he would NEVER issue a "verbal" for certified weight. Two Men And A Truck Agreed to pay us back $1440 for over charges on weight, but not the $1930 for packing they never provided.

They never paid us anything. These people lied to us and are intent on ripping us off! There is more to this story regarding small claims court where we lost because they lied in court. We contacted a lawyer for advice and were surprised to find that she recently had all her jewelry stolen during a move with the same company! She also told us that she found out this company hires ex-convicts. She agreed that we have sufficient proof, but that it would probably cost as much or more than we were claiming to fight, and there was no guarantee we'd win.

We submitted a claim for our possessions they broke and they have not done a thing about it.

The public should be aware of these people and their practices.
