No leg to stand on

Unfortuunately you do not have a leg to stand on in this situation. US cellular has chosen to leave part of the Midwest market and sprint has purchased a portion of their network called spectrum (im not going to get into what that means) but that does not mean you are being screwed. It does mean that you have some choices to make. You do have to choose A new cellular service provider and get new phones. You have the option to go with any carrier you choose including prepaid options like at&t go phone or boost mobile if a contract is a problem. However sprint is offering alot of promotions/credits for us cellular customers that make sprint a good option. Per phone number you port to sprint you will be getting $186 in discounts on your new phones and credits on your bill. Yes I know you were happy with US cellular bc they didn't have contracts and you could buy phones with reward points but the problem with that is that they clearly were not making enough money to stay in Chicago I'm sure due to in large part those programs. No one is trying to screw you and in fact sprint is going above and beyond to make this transition as smooth as possible.

I think about it like this, if allstate insurance company were to go out of business abruptly I would have to choose A new insurance provider. Would it be nice if lets say State Farm would offer me the exact same plan I had with All state? Yes! But I understand that may not be an option. If I did choose to take my business to state farm I would have to choose from their available services. Also, while I may not be happy about it, All state did nothing wrong by going out of business. As long as they notified me in a timely manner so I had enough time to research my options and make the switch I do not have the rite to go to state farm and yell and complain about the raw deal im getting. Trust me the employees don't want to hear it.

In summary, you don't have to like us cellular leaving Chicago but you do  not have the rite to sue or do anything but use this opportunity to update your phones, cell phone plan and carrier. Look at this as an opportunity to get a sweet new phone at a really good deal. (Cell phone carriers always go above and beyond for new customers)

I say this having sold cellular phones for just about every company over the last 8 years. And of course, these thoughts and opinions are mine and not that of sprint or any company for that matter.
