I work with a credit union in Phoenix, AZ. I am the Collections Manager and thus deal with a lot of repossessed cars for the credit union. We have had multiple dealings with this company- none of which have been good. They do not keep records- they are unreachable and as far as my experience with them- unscrupulous! They have changed ownership hands several times and thus far, we have lost 2 cars to their system. Luckily, Arizona has a lovely Statute in it's Criminal Code that allows us to report these vehicles stolen after a certain number of days delinquent. This has been the only way we can get this company to respond. We are currently looking for a 3rd vehicle that the newest owners, themselves, were driving around in. They have closed up their store front, changed all their numbers and have dissapeared with our vehicle.

Anybody that has dealings with the company may contact me for further informaition or to share information.

I welcome the input.

Richard

I can give you all the info I have available on Denny and his son. As for your car, I do know where it was as of last year. Denny relocated to Lake Havasu City, Az most of the vehicles went with him down there. the ones that were kept in Phoenix are on another lot in Scottsdale, they re-opened the company under a different name! The company is on Scottsdale rd & McDowell rd. Your car is either there thru that program or in Lake Havasu! Please feel free to let me know what I can do for you and all the other!

For Tracy, Ex Employee

AUTHOR: Thomas - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Sunday, March 19, 2006

I have been trying to find my vehicle for over a year now with no luck. The Attorney General of Arizona has basically stated to me that they are not going to do much more in tracking down Denny and his company. If you have inside information on Denny Hilliard and former American Automanagement, I would be very greatful as to how I can get in contact. My car, 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse was put into their service back in April 2004 and obviously gone missing. To Rip Off Report Management, please advise how I can get contact information for Tracy to potentially locate my vehicle. Kind regards,

I have inside information

I worked at American auto management. I am very aware of the scam Denny Hillard and his son was and is still running. I was fired because I asked too many questions. They are now running the same company under a different name in Scottsdale.

To all Rebuttals on my original posting

My apologies for not responding to these sooner... I was only made aware of the "rebuttals" today. Additonally, I am unable to repond to the "rebuttals" individually, so, I will simply break them up in this message.

Rachel in Apache Junction: My first question would be, which credit union are you affiliated with. If there is still an open loan on your vehicle, and it is beyond 90-days past due, the credit union can report the vehicle stolen for you, however, it is not going to provide you any relief from having to make the payments. It is a tough line to straddle. The only way these cars can be reported stolen by the lender is if the loan exceeds 90-days past due. This means that your credit history will reflect that delinquency. This does not mean your history will be tarnished by this, you will simply require letters from your lender to explain the situation so that future lenders do not assume that the delinquency was due to negligence. This is the only way to get these vehicles on the "Stolen Vehicle" network.

Scott in Surprise: I would very much be interested in talking to you in regards to your suit and the response you received. I can be contacted through First Edition Community Credit Union EXT 1132. Hopefully the site allows me to post this!

Thomas in London: I would need to know which institution your vehicle is financed through. If they are an Arizona based finance company/bank, then they have the right to report the car stolen if the loan is past due 90-days or more. If they are not an Arizona based institution, the chances are very slim that the car will be accepted as stolen by local authorities. The statute that assists Arizona institutions is not available in all states and most likely not available in other countries... but I cannot say for sure... my knowledge of Parlimentary law is limited to say the least. I can tell you that one of the vehicles that we are trying to recover from this company, is owned by a customer who is overseas as well. He retained an attorney here in the US to assist him with reporting the car stolen. Of course, the attorney will have no more luck than anybody else with this task. According to the police, when the vehicles are voluntarily given to these types of companies, the disapearance of the vehicle becomes a civil matter. For them, it is no different than handing a stranger your keys, telling them they can take it, and then trying to say they stole it... it just does not fly. Arizona lenders just got lucky with the loop-hole...

As mentioned in other responses, all phone numbers, website and emails are disconnected. If someone would please let me know how I can find them and get my car back, it would be most appreciated. I am currently residing in England, so you can see it is rather difficult for me to move this forward. I willw atch this site, but you want, pleae respond below so others can benefit. I will be calling the police as well reporting the car as stolen, even though it may not do any good, I feel it is something I have to do.

Tempe police dept refuses to take a stolen vehicle report referring me to the Attorney General's office

AUTHOR: Rachel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 23, 2005

Richard, Your report says you work for a credit union? How can you go about reporting the vehicle stolen? My 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 is missing due to one of these companies, American Auto Management aka American Automan. They went out of business a couple weeks after I enrolled my truck in their "program". They have never contacted me or provided me any info as to the whereabouts of my vehicle. I just keep getting photo radar speeding tickets with the "users" picture. The Tempe police dept refuses to take a stolen vehicle report referring me to the Attorney General's office. They haven't even acknowledged my complaint yet. My insurance company and credit union claim their is nothing they can do. Is there something I can say or do to get my credit union to help me? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
