Verizon Wireless: Greensburg Pa. has NO Service when your phone breaks, they replaced a Nokia Model 3285 with another phone same model. Well this one is 10 Times worse, shuts off whenever.

After 4 trips their sells person Chris Strobel said call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 they will cancell the contract because we cannot fix the phone and do not have any batteries for it. She didn't even try to contact a Manager at the store for help. She said BUY a New Phone- Well forget that they overcharge for there BAD Service Now. Why Pay them more money where-as she makes more commissions for providing Poor Service.

We called customer service on 9-4-04, there story is you pay the early contract fee of $175.00 and or buy INSURANCE for the phones. What the hell do I need insurance for since the phone is JUNK They gave us. They voided the contract by not suppling us with a good working phone. Also filed a complaint with there web site, but as it go's they DO NOT ANSWER YOUR Complaint.

I called again on 9-7-04 customer service well same line of (BS) pay the fee of $175.00. I said NO-Way you voided the contract. Now they say you need to talk to a Supervisor, I was put on hold, waited several mins. for her to tell me someone will have to call me on this. Well they can jump in a lake. I do not want there JUNK Phones or so called service.

I am owed approx: $120.00 for time lost from work, plus the trips to the store, time on the phone, plus $45.00 for 1-months service they didn't provide.

Be carefull on who you deal with these wireless companies need to be goverment controlled, they just RIP people Off everyday and pass the Buck.

Paul from Colorado Obviously you thought that Verizon landline and Verizon Wireless are the same company?

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Obviously you thought that Verizon landline and Verizon Wireless are the same company?

If you get a cell phone and it says that all calls from Verizon-to-Verizon are free it's cellular service! The 2 companies above are just that 2 companies.

Read your paperwork before you jump to conclusions.

I'm am sorry that it happened. Did you call the customer service department and explain what you were thinking?

I hope you weren't rude and screaming about the mistake you made. Remember one can get further with sugar than vinegar.

Even ask if you can split the cost of the overage, or if they would make an adjustment this one time. We do it all the time for customers.

Take the loss, it's a low priority bad hit on your credit rating.

AUTHOR: PAUL - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 07, 2005

It's far cheaper to take the BAD credit report from Verizon than to pay their rip off rates. I was told by the sales rep at CIRCUIT CITY that ALL calls from and to VERIZON were free. My friend who travels on his job, bought a family plan so I could keep an eye on his dog and house.

He had DIRECT pay set up and thought the charges were for ROAMING charges. Found out, Circuit City LIED and Verizon land line calls are not FREE. The bill came to $210 and $180 for two months. We are switching companies and not paying anymore bills to VERIZON.

The credit rating companies place the lowest priority on bad debts to cell phone companies. We are choosing to say, SCREW VERIZON and taking the hits on quitting. I am going with, Crickett phone company and he already has SPRINT.

Version Wireless ripoff-service on cell Phones

Update: The store location in Greensburg (westmoreland mall) just has extremely poor service: I contacted there main office, a supervisior (Peggy Nickles) helped fix the problem. They replaced all 3 phones with new flip phones (Lg VX 3200). It go's to show you need to deal with the right person, sometimes it is a pain, but that is life.
In todays world customer service is a problem, there is very little out there, if you find some be gratefull. The phones work extremely well we tested them now for over 3 months, to note there was no cost for me in replacement, just a new agreement. Thank You for people like Peggy Nickles this lady went out of her way to handle the problem she needs a raise.

EXACTLY, When you sign a contract with someone, you take the risk that it may not come through

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 16, 2004

You nailed it on the head! When you sign a contract with someone, you take the risk that it may not come through...when they signed the contract with Verizon they took the risk. They put their name on the dotted like...deal with it is all I can say!

And with the quality of products..you're saying that if you go to Sears or Walmart or even Nordstrom, yes it's all new, but that doesn't mean it's quality! You take the risk! So this whole "well I bought it new, it should be perfect" is dumb. Again I say, you get what you pay for.

Verizon offers their low end Motorolla phone and I bought that when I first started with them. I knew it was cheap but it's all I could afford at the time when I needed a phone. I knew that I would get a better quality if I payed more, but I couldn't. So if you don't want to dish out cash, you get what you pay for. When the antenna busted off and some other issues, I knew that it was cuz that's what I payed for.

Anyways, enough about all this. People need to quit acting like childs and take problems in an adult manner. Being a 2 year old in attitude is for...well 2 year olds!

Response to John

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

Yes it is true that you get what you pay for. But why does a company offer something that is unreliable. Its not like a car. If i spend less money on a used car i go into knowing that i purchased something used and there is a chance it might be junk. I am buying a brand new phone. ANd in my eyes the product shouldnt be offered if it is considered to be the worst. Also i feel it is wrong to judge someone elses situation unless you have been in the same excact situation and went to the same stores as that person did. Some stores have terrible cust service some stores have great cust service. To the person that started this thread i suggest that you close your contract with them and accept the fee. When a sports team signs a player to a contract they take the risk that that person may end up being terible, but the still have to pay that person or release that person and payoff so much of the contract.

GOOD LORD!

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 15, 2004

In response to Paul, all I can say is come on. First off, try buying a phone that isn't the worst on the market. Quality has it's costs.

I've been with Verizon for several years and the only bump I've had with them was last Oct. when they switched billing systems, I was getting charged too much, but they fixed that no problem.

I've gone through new contracts, new every two, I use my phone as my only source of contact.

And now I guess I have to chuckle about you being owed 120 for loss of wage. I mean, hum...so if I drop my phone and have to make a trip to the store, they have to compensate for my time lost. No, you just need to do it when you're not working. You're the one that took time off work. Sue happy American is all I can say!

All the information I provided is indeed correct. As I know because I am a store technician. My job is to determine if a phone is covered under warranty or needs replacement by the insurance. In your case you should be greatful that it was replaced under the warranty. It could have been the person that looked at the phone was not a technician or trained by the manufacturers to do this type of work or it could be the store manager made an exception as to the status of you account. There are many factors that could have contributed to your "free" replacement. I see this on a daily basis. Some customers bring in phones that will not power on and we are going to take the word of the customer as to what happened to the phone. There are some people that will not mention that the phone got wet somehow..NOW I am not saying that your wife did this or that your a dishonest person, but i am trying to provide consumer information to aviod any problems in the future.

Broken Phones vs Warranty

AUTHOR: Ricardo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 05, 2004

I know it really sucks when your phone breaks or is damaged unintentionally. All VZW phones are covered by a MANUFATURERS warranty. VZW does NOT make the phones. Each manufacturer stipulates what is covered under their warranty or what they consider defective on their product. So if a phone is dropped in a toilet, gets wet and no longer works, is it that the manufacturers fault? No. If there are signs of physical or liquid damage the warranty is void. Trust me, they know if a phone gets wet, even though it doesnt look like it from the outside of the phone, but what about the inside? If they see that a customer was issued a warranty replacement phone and the orginal phone was damaged in anyway, the can infact charge you full retai for the replacement that you received. The only way to replace a phone that has been damaged is by the insurance company. Which works like any other insurance company. You pay a monthly fee and when a claim needs to be filed there is a deductible. I would rather pay a deductible of $50.00 rather that not have insurance and have to pay full retail value for a phone which starts around $140 or paying the termination fee of $175. Remember its not VZW fault that the phn is broken. If you phone is not broken and seems defective, yes we will try to fix the phone. If the person working on your phone is not able to fix it, they will replace it (going by the manufacturer guidelines) with the same make and model. If you are disputing that your phone is covered under warranty and is not replaced by VZW, call the manufacturer directly. Let them kow what is wrong with it..again remember they cann tell if its damaged once they receive it. I hope this clears up some issues as to phone equuipment replacement. As for people being refered to ebay or other sources to get phones, its just a suggestion to save you money.
