Wal-mart ripoff Tire change cost me 1300 dollars and more than a month with no car. They no longer get any of my business, which will result in loss of MORE than $1300. Boaz Alabama

I went to the Wal-mart here in Boaz, AL about 3 weeks ago to get a single tire changed.

I have a crown victoria with air suspension on it. This is supposed to be turned off whenever the car is jacked up. They did not do this and it forced the shocks to extend and busted the airbags. The compressor in turn tried to compensate and then burned up.

After being ignored by the insurance company (CMI. Wal-Mart is self-insured) and contacting the store mgr, district mgr, and getting NOWHERE, I took my car to the Ford dealership for an estimate.

They (Ford dealership) informed me the damages were $1300 dollars and that it was caused by the shocks being over extended. I then called the insurance company for Wal-mart (CMI) who informed me that they were rejecting my claim stating "The damage was done due to aging and would have probably occured in 6 months to a year anyway" I then told him that was 6 more months I would have my car!

I called the Ford place back, who stated they had not said any such thing. That it was obviously from them being jacked up and over extended.

I am in the process of getting an attorney and plan to sue for husband's lost time at work, mileage, rental of a vehicle and mental distress!

For a company that pushes customer satisfaction, they sure have a funny way of showing it. I plan on telling everyone I know and come in contact with, as well as posting it on all my profiles and sites I visit on the net. They no longer get any of my business, which will result in loss of MORE than $1300.
