This company did a horrible job on the siding replacement with crooked and jagged cuts and improper installation of the butt joints. They did not follow the manufacturers recommendations, the NAHB Guidelines or what we agreed to. They did not install the butt joints on studs & they installed a butt joint over a window. They also installed cracked siding. They caulked the butt joints and then the owner lied to me saying they did not. She argued with me on the phone until I had to physically go and remove some of the caulking and take pictures of it as shown below. They also failed to reinstall my gutter guard, leaving it laying on the ground.

I offered them opportunities (plural) to correct their mistakes, we agreed to the proper method of repair, but when I returned from work I discovered they did not do what we agreed to, but instead did something completely different which in turn made the overall job even worse. Instead of pulling the fresh caulking out like they said they would they used a Dremel saw to cut it out making each joint jagged and inconsistent as shown in the pictures. They also failed to reinstall my gutter guard, leaving it laying on the ground.

I offered to pay them for the work that was done correctly, but they refused and subsequently filed a mechanics lien on my property.

I have worked in the construction industry for 28 years and currently serve as a Quality Control Manager for a commercial and custom home developer & builder with projects in excess of 1/2 Billion. I provided the owner with my business card, background and credentials when we walked the job prior to starting the project. I also reminded her of the same when we did the follow up walk regarding the repairs that was needed and that we agreed to. I am happy to answer any questions you have or provide further details.
