consumer protection bureau Called Me by phone as a member of legal department as to outstanding debts Douglaston New York

Was contacted this morning by a representative of the Consumer Protection Bureau,and was advised that Their atgtorneys are loojing into debts i owe, No full name of the representative was given, nor was a return phone number left for me to contact.Suspect this is a scam allong the the lines of Ace, Inc and Ace credit services, who have been hounding Me byemails the last 3 days.

Have never been left a full name, nor a phone number to contact.Has been strongly suggested I make a payment via a plain vanilla envelope.I have researched Scam artists, and this is a popular method, alo\ng with onlhy email notices, NEVER a letter sent on company letterhead, with name, address, and phone # of compsany, file #, amount owed, name and account # of original creditor.
