E & J Roofing Co. I had one hours worth of work done for $725.00 (5) shingles and caulk. Was asked to pay cash. This was a complete rip off. Chicago Illinois

I had E & J roofing at my house for a estimate.  I was shown pictures of work that needed to be done by the foreman.  I was then asked to call Kevin the owner for a price.  When I called Kevin he asked if I could pay cash.  I said I could. 

I was briefly explained about the work that would be done.  I had water in my basement coming out of my furnace.  I am 72 years old and live on Social Security.  I was told the price would be $725.00, not knowing that the job would basically consist of 5 shingles and caulk.  The whole job only took less than one hour. 

I feel like I was raped. I called Kevin afterwards and he gave me a terrible time on the phone.  He said he would call me back but never did.  I am very unhappy with this company after giving them 4 referrals in the past.
