Markovic appears to be up to his old tricks. In my case, he’d asked me to lend him money to help pay his legal fees.

Markovic promised to not only pay it back within a short amount of time but give me double my money in return. He was able to make this generous and seemingly irresistible deal because he said he had money coming his way. He told me he’d had an impressive lotto win in Europe and was just waiting for the money to arrive here. 

When he returned from Europe, the only thing forthcoming from Markovic was a litany of farcical excuses as to where the money was.

His favourite was that he’d transferred the money but the bank lost it. To prove his point, he sent me falsified bank statements and had me listen in on phone calls he claimed to be receiving from the bank.
