We sold our home at 968 150th Ave in New Richmond, WI, with our own agent representing us. The buyers were represented by Justin DuChemin of RE/MAX Professionals.

When we received the final settlement statement, we were shocked to see large seller concessions added without our knowledge or consent. These were never discussed or agreed upon at any point during negotiations, and we were also charged the buyer’s brokerage commission. This drastically reduced our sale proceeds and left our family financially devastated.

Even after our agent raised concerns about the purchase agreement, Justin proceeded with the terms. When questioned, he allegedly stated that he had “enough attorneys at his firm who would back him up.” This felt incredibly intimidating and raised serious ethical concerns.

We attempted to resolve this issue directly with RE/MAX Professionals and even escalated it to the owners, Justin and Sonya Fox. To date, no one has responded. The lack of accountability and transparency has only deepened the distress this has caused our family.

We believe this behavior reflects a serious lack of professionalism and are filing this report to help protect other families from going through the same experience.

All these terms were spelled out for you in your documentation yet YOU didn't even have the COMMON SENSE to READ what you were agreeing to, BEFORE you agreed to it. Worse yet, you didn't even have YOUR OWN ATTORNEY review ALL THE CONTRACTUAL ITEMS and be with you at the closing. Of course, it's every body's fault but yours, right????Come on people.....buying and selling real estate is not amateur night. Your agent is not an attorney and your agent has one goal in mind....make the sale so they can get their commission. You sign MANY papers legally binding and fully enforceable in court. Anybodybwith half a brain has an attorney represent them at closing. That attorney works for those who hired them. Big money is involved. Little money pays an attorney. Going into a real estate deal without representation is the definition of stupidity. Go ahead and get mad but this WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU WERE REPRESENTED AND THAT IS A FACT!!
