We renovated our kitchen less than a year ago, including $6000+ of all new KitchenAid major appliances. The dishwasher (model# KDPM704KPS) started rusting around the border of the handle after six months; obvious manufacturing defect and not due to normal use. KitchenAid states it's 'cosmetic', only covered for 30 days and will not repair/replace at their expense. Very disappointing that KitchenAid won't stand behind their product.
