Move Smart, Boca Raton, FL This company did not fulfill their contract and kept our money Boca Raton Florida

We contracted with Move Smart to move our belongings and settled on a pick up date and price. We sent them (via debit card) 1/2 of the amount. The next day the dispatcher called and asked to change the date which we agreed to.  Shortly after the call we got two new quotes both with higher prices on them and one of them had the new move date on it. 

We called the rep (Kevin Norwood) and asked why there was two new quotes, why they were both for a higher price and one had  the new pick up date on it.  Kevin could not explain and became angry when we continued to ask the reason for them.  He said he was going to transfer us to dispatchand put us on hold. No one picked up.  He had assured us previous in the conversation that they would honor the original quote but could not explain the increased prices.

We were told that we would get a call from Move Smart the day before and a call from the driver the morning of the pick up.  We did not receive a call the day before or a call from the driver the morning of the pick up.  My husband called Move Smart and was told that Kevin's wife was in the hospital and that the truck had a wreck and could not pick up our belongings.  Within minutes of the call we got a "Service Failure" email which stated that Move Smart would call to reschedule and that our deposit would be returned if they could not reschedule. Also, that they would send a refund reciept when they had processed the refund.

They did not reschedule, our deposit has not been returned and we have not gotten the refund email. Our calls to check on where our money is has been met with rude and evasive responses. claiming that Move Smart has done what they need to do and its up to our bank to do the rest.  We have waited the alloted 3-5 days and contacted our bank which has not had a return of funds from Move Smart.  I have the emails that I will share as evidence of the transaction. I have since reported Move Smart to the BBB and read the reviews which show repeated divisive actions to mislead and scam potential customers.
