In 2024, my 2018 Kia Optima was stolen due to the well-documented security vulnerability affecting many Kia models. After it was recovered, Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA had my vehicle for over 100 days to complete repairs. During this time, they failed to install the anti-theft software update released by Kia, and they never informed me it was not completed. I reasonably assumed that this critical security update had been taken care of while my car was in their possession for over three months.

In 2025, my vehicle was stolen again for a third time. This time, as a result of the theft, the engine seized. Kia has since denied my warranty claim, stating the damage was due to “outside influence.” However, the outside influence in question could have been entirely prevented if Nalley Kia had installed the software when they had the opportunity. Their negligence directly contributed to the repeated theft and the final failure of my vehicle.

When I contacted Nalley Kia for accountability, I was met with dismissive and unhelpful responses — particularly from Erica, the service supervisor, who showed no concern for my situation. This vehicle was a gift from my grandfather before he passed away, and the emotional and financial toll of losing it in this way has been devastating.

I have filed formal complaints with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, BBB, BBB Auto Line, and Kia Corporate. I am now left with no functioning vehicle, thousands of dollars in losses, and no warranty support, all because the dealership failed to perform a basic safety update and failed to communicate with me.

This experience has been heartbreaking and financially overwhelming. Nalley Kia’s negligence and lack of responsibility has caused irreversible damage, and I hope others will think twice before trusting this dealership with their vehicles.

STENCH Exemplified...Let's Get This Straight!

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, June 14, 2025

You are dealing with a dealership which adds at least a $899 FAKE FEE to the price of a car. "So what", you say. That ADMISSION tells shows you in no uncertain terms HONESTY and INTEGRITY are NOT in practice there. Adding FAKE FEES is FRAUD and DECEPTION which shows by a preponderance of the evidence you are dealing with LIARS and as such you cannot trust them with anything. Secondly, you mentioned the BBB. FOR YOUR EDUCATION as well as those eavesdropping here...the BBB is NOT part of ANY government or law enforcement entity. As such, the BBB and their litany of PHONEY BALONEY has absolutely ZERO POWER to force or order any business to do anything! The BBB has ZERO POWER to enforce any business laws. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS??? THIS is an ABSOLUTE FACT! The BBB is a PAY-FOR-PLAY SCAM and guess what? Do you want to smell even more STENCH??? Despite the dealership's FULL ADMISSION OF ADDING BOGUS, ADD-ON, FAKE FEES and how YOU have been treated, the BBB SOLD these dealership slime balls a FAKE "A" useless rating TO FURTHER DECEIVE THE PUBLIC! Because this dealership is a BBB CUSTOMER, the BBB is NOT going to go-to-bat for you! If you were to enter the PHONEY BBB "arbitration" con-game, it will be you against one of BBB's PAYING CUSTOMERS OF A FAKE RATING with a FAKE ARBITRATOR who is PAID BY THE BBB! Do you think you will have a chance? The STENCH of the BBB CON-GAME is incredible! Now that you know....be a hero and pass the word! Now what? The dealership slime balls think you are STUPID and you are going to play their doormat and just go away! What I would advise, is you start calling attorneys who have experience going up against dealership FRAUD and DECEPTION in your area. You need to ask the attorney if their fee can be included in the settlement. You did NOT say what these alleged external factors leading to engine failure are but the FACT was you weren't driving the car and car thieves don't drive as if they're on a Sunday drive! If this dealership would have added the software WHICH A REASONABLE SHOP WOULD DO, then as you say, the car would not have been stolen and perhaps signs of engine failure would have prompted you to seek service. So then...what are you going to do? You can play doormat, sucker and chump and just do nothing or you can go out and get legal representation and win a case. If it was me, I'd present a case against not only the DEALERSHIP SMELL but also the BBB with their FAKE RATING which tells you this dealership is trustable when YOU HAVE SEEN THEY ARE MOST CERTAINLY NOT and the BBB is also FRAUDULENT. The CHOICE is yours. Please make the RIGHT choice! ****THE BBB...ANOTHER PRIME EXAMPLE OF THE BBB CHOKING ON THE STENCH OF THEIR OWN DECEPTION!****
