Prop 65 is a very good law for attornies. It was put in place with a provision that companies could be sued for "non-compliance". Many companies were sued and had to fight even though they were likely not obligated to post a notice. As a result many companies that could even remotely fall under the law put up a notice to avoid any issues. It doesn't say that that companies DOES have harmful chemicals, just that it MAY.
As for any allergy issues. You are buying from a company that sells nuts, why are you shocked that there might be some cross-contamination? If you truly have an allergy then why didn't you verify this before you purchased from them? This goes for ANY company you purchase food from.
