Scam Alert.....Ted Overy,  TBO3, Kuna Idaho  

Ted O**** agreed to build a deck, install shiplap to all interior walls of my home, paint the ceiling, frame in a bedroom, hang a new front door and build floor to ceiling custom bookcases in a bedroom and my front room for $13,000 (labor only).

He bundled his services and said the more projects we gave him, the lower his labor price would be. Over the course of 7 weeks, the only thing he did was build the deck but he didn't even finish it. He only applied 1 coat of deck paint when it needs two, did not go in between the slats of wood or underneath the wood.

Since he used douglas fir to build the deck, only a matter of time before wood rot sets in because it is exposed to moisture. The trim work is **** sloppy and unprofessional looking. We had a verbal agreement for more work once all the initial work was complete, so he actually ended up taking home $15,000.

At the end of 7 weeks, with the deck still not finished, he told me he would need more money to do anything inside the house, even though he had already been paid. He gave many excuses, such as he just underbid the job, it took too long because he was slowed down by training his new employee, the work inside the house was more than he expected (even though he never even started on anything in the house).

I could not be more disappointed or disgusted with Ted B O****. He spent many weeks telling me how much honesty and integrity he had. My husband works in Afghanistan, so he also took full advantage of the fact that my husband was not here to hold him more accountable than I was able to.

Do NOT hire this contractor if you value your money and your home. I don't know if he rips everyone off, but he certainly took my husband and me for a ride. We figure he ripped us off about $12,000.

Additionally, I have every reason to believe that the review from Anna M is from his wife, so not a very trustworthy source.
