1and1, 1&1, 1and1.com, 1and1.co.uk, 1&1 Internet, Oneandone.net, Ruined my credit at a very young age, charged me hundreds of dollars, sold my domain Slough, Berkshire

I ran a personal website that hosted unique and intriguing unsigned music. I had paid for all the registration fees and paid for 6 months of an account with 1and1. The website started gaining momentum, and more and more people started visiting it. I then offloaded some of the administration to my friend, creating a new database for him, setting up an FTP, the whole nine yards.

About 4 months in to my contract with 1and1 hosting company, the information I provided my colleague was comprimised, and an individual essentially uploaded a significant amount of copyrighted material and use terabytes of bandwidth. Now this is where the scamming on 1and1's behalf comes in.

I had set up an expense tracker on my account to notify me at 500gb less than my max quota for bandwidth. In addition, I set it to freeze my account if it incurred any more than a 4 dollar charge to my account. This did not happen when my account was comprimised.

Two Hundred E-Mails later, and 4 months down the line I find out from my credit report that the "money I owe 1and1" has actually been delinquent for 4 months now, even though I canceled my contract a month and a half early. The same money they say I owed them because of bandwidth costs that I stated was "In Dispute", they simply filed it as delinquent/never pay.

There was a particular individual, Joseph Quinn, who got in my way more often than not. I attempted to find out who his superior was and he refused to supply that to me. He continued to step on other people's feet and get in the way of trying to resolve this billing related issue. And although my account was comprimised they refused to awknowledge, let alone comprimise with me on the fact I was no longer in control of my website, and that it was unauthorized. Soon after I ran my credit report, my bank decided to cancel my credit card off the sole fact I had a 4 month, rolling on 5 month delinquency, and things just went down hill from there.

I was stuck in numerous financial hardships because of my bad credit score thanks to 1and1. It costs me hundreds of dollars in fees, and has left me in emergency situations that I would not have been in otherwise. It essentially ruined my credit history at such a young age, and now my insurance is higher, I can't get a student loan and complete college, and I can't get a credit card to have a backup source and/or have the ability to buy something on credit.
