After selling me 6 months of auto insurance by phone, for which I paid totally, I got an invoice in the mail for "amendments" claimed to be dated the same day as the sale, yet I never got a declarations page reflecting any "amendments." I do not believe I owe them an additional 90 dollars.
This is a cute trick, which probably gets them paid extra money by little old ladies who don't know about anything to do but pay whatever bills they get in the mail.
I know of international postal ripoffs from years ago, billing companies for directories that were never printed. People just pay bills that come in the mail, never checking to see if they are valid. I think someone at 21st Century is onto that old scam.

21st century is owned by FARMERS INSURANCE GROUP, which is a wonderful company and not AIG.

A little tidbit of info about 21st Century auto insurance

I am presuming here you purchased insurance from the same 21st Century auto insurance company that airs a lot of TV ads for their insurance. You may be interested to know that 21st Century auto insurance is owned by AIG...the same reprehensible Wall Street insurance firm the taxpayers had to bail out, and last I heard...they still haven't even repaid back all the taxpayer's money the Fed gave them!
It was interesting to note that at almost the same time AIG was reported in the media as being in financial trouble and needed a bailout...their TV ads for their insurance were changed and the insurance marketed under the 21st Century name instead of the original AIG name.
This change was nothing but an obvious attempt to keep customers (and attract new ones) by using a different subsidiary name, thus, they figure consumers wouldn't associate the 21st Century auto insurance name with the AIG name. What a crock!
If you ever closely listened/watched AIG's original TV ads...and listen to their CURRENT TV ads...you can readily recognize the announcer's voice as the same one who narrated AIG's original insurance ads, complete with all the same BS diatribe about how much customers save over other insurers.
Given AIG's reputation...I wouldn't purchase anything from them!

21st Insurance Arrogantly Bad Customer Service

21st apparently does not care what their public reputation is. Because I mistrusted them, I filed a complaint with the state insurance commissioner, demanding an explanation. After some weeks of delay, 21st responded to say their telephone salesman had erred by leaving some $90 worth of "uninsured motorist" coverage that the state requires a written declination of to leave off the policy. Because I had not sent them a written declination of that cover, unknown, unidentified persons inside the cloud of 21st Insurance added that cover and billed me without explanation. They of course, simply told this to the insurance commissioner without apology for their behavior. I have paid the extra charge now, but will change to another insurance company when it is convenient to me.....of course telling everyone I can about the bad behavior of 21st Insurance.
