In July 2004, I purchased a vehicle in Houston, TX through a very reputable Toyota dealer. The salesperson gave me a list of several transport companies, including A-1 Auto Transport. I called 2 companies who told me they were unable to deliver to Paducah, KY (where I reside). I finally called A-1, who assured me that my vehicle would be delivered within 10-14 days. I agreed to pay a deposit of $125 and according to a customer service agent that I kept in contact with throughout the process (his name starts with an M), my truck would be on its way soon! I called the company at least twice per week to check on the status/location of my truck. Each time, Mr. "M" told me what I wanted to hear (i.e. "Your truck has been picked up and taken to our holding facility." "The vehicle will be picked up by our transport truck tomorrow." "Your vehicle will be in Nashville, TN by next Friday and you will be able to pick it up at our holding facility there." "The transport truck broke down and your vehicle is awaiting another transport truck." "The transport truck is in North Carolina and will be in Nashville by next Tuesday.") This run-around went on for about 3 weeks. Finally, on August 10, I called A-1 and talked to another CSR who informed that my truck was still sitting at the holding facility in Houston!!! I informed that individual of what Mr. "M" had been telling me all along and her response was, "Well, he's been lying to you."

Of course, I told them to cancel my order and I proceeded to ask about my $125 deposit. They refused to refund my money after delivering NO services and lying to me for 3 weeks. I ended up flying to Texas (by myself) and driving my truck to Kentucky, which is what I should have done in the first place. The Toyota salesperson has removed A-1 Auto Transport from his list of recommendations and I hope others will do the same. If you must use this company, please BE CAREFUL!!!!
