A-1 Moving And Storage ripoff movers fraudulent billing, disappeared boxes Fairfield California

I moved a week into a Ph.D. program and explained to the movers that I needed a smooth move. The movers said they would be able to put the stuff into storage that I needed in storage and would move the other stuff to my new residence without any glitches. The movers took an extra day to pack my things and then showed up 6 hours after they said they would at my new residence. At least five boxes that were to be in storage showed up at the new residence and boxes with my stereo, valuable art and medical equipment did not show up. The movers claimed to have delivered a box with a marble top table, but when the box was opened no marble top table was found. The dishwasher wheels were crumpled under and one was missing, indicating it had been dropped. None of the shelves of the shelving units showed up. Many things were broken. When I asked the movers to put together the tables they had taken apart (including the marble top table) they said they could not. I asked the company to look for the missing items among the stored items. Didn't they check the items into storage and wouldn't extra items have been noted? Keith said he didn't know. Keith said he would look in the storage vault, but after ten days, he still had not looked. These people were responsive before the move, but after the move, they failed to return phone calls for days. A-1 Moving and Storage simply did not care about locating lost items. In addition, even by the company's own admissions, they significantly overcharged me for the move, but have failed to refund the overcharge amount. I believe these people are crooks. They are out to get your goods and your money. I have never had an expereince this bad with any movers and I have moved alot with poor movers. Stay away from this company if you want to see all of your possessions after a move!
