A & A Towing Illegal towing practices Long Beach California

A & A Towing continues to tow cars illegal, and they do not notify people they are towing about the proper laws.


A & A has a contract with my apartment complex. In order for a car to be towed, they need to have the signature of the property manager, or an employee of the property, unless it is parked in a fire lane, or in other unauthorized areas.

I have seen plenty of people being towed out of areas, when the office is closed. We do not have a manager that lives on site. So it is impossible to get a signature to legally tow.

3 years ago I was illegal towed. The only reason why I was refunded was because the property manager threatened to drop their contract unless they refund my tow. Before that the owner told me hell would freeze over before I got refunded. Even when I had a print out of the laws in my hands. Of course after the threat of losing thousands of dollars, he refunded my tow.

On 1-3-08 at 6:45 I witnessed somebody being illegally towed. The office closes at 6:00. A resident signed for the car to be towed. The law clearly states that this is a violation.

I approached the man being towed, and informed him of the laws. This caused the tow truck driver to cuss me out and scream at me. I never raised my voice and I walked away.

Also the law states that the employee must be present when being towed. I have NEVER seen them come down to watch the tow. This makes me think they already have signed forms in their truck. Meaning they can tow anybody they want for any reason they see fit. This is only an assumption.

I wrote down the CA vehicle code website for the guy that got towed, and gave him the info. Hopefully he takes them to small claims court.

I am sick of the disgusting practices of A & A Towing. And unless something is done about this, nothing will change. I have already reported them to the B.B.B.
