I had the bad experience of using this spa A Serenity Skin Care in Pt Loma, San Diego. The first impression I had when I walked in the door was, "Oh my God, this place is from the 1960's and it has never been remodled". I work in the health care industry as an CNA and I noticed that Anke Stoner (the owner) had no hot water in the bathroom and she was taking hot water from the Sparkletts water cooler in the lobby and using it for facials. I was wondering how she could wash her hands because there is not hot water in the bathroom.
My boyfriend gave me a certificate for a microdermabraision and facial. It cost him about $180. He did not know any better. I felt so ripped off because there is no Spa atmosphere here. And Anke Stoner who owns A Serentiy Skin Care dressed in old (I mean old) skin tight blue jeans and a worn out white thermal top. How unprofessional is this. She did not have any make up on or anything. She looked like she came from a garage sale.
The microderm was average. I did not see the usual results I get from S.K. . She had some line of skincare products that I had never seen before. Maybe that alone is not bad but when you put the whole picture together it looks like a ripp off. Why should I pay top dollar for this dump when I can go to many other places and be much happier with a really great atmosphere.

When you try to book an appointment there is no receptionist so I had to play phone tag back and forth with Anke Stoner (owner) before I could get an appointment. For the prices Anke Stoner charges at A Serenity Spa I think a little more service is merrited for her clientelle.

Oh yeah, one more thing. If you call to make an appointment good luck because there is no one to answer the telephone. What I mean is there is not receptionist. So I had to play "phone tag" back and forth several times before I could book and appointment.
