I was referred to this company via American Home Shield home warranty. We bought a new house a couple months ago and needed the sump pump checked out as it wasn't working and a newly formed wet spot under where the master bath tub sits addressed. The issue was not with the timeliness of the appointment. Punctuality was good. It's simply that the 'technician' was extremely rude, belittling, rushing, did not listen to me when I was trying to tell him the issues with the plumbing, and as it turns out gave me incorrect information. Upon arriving, he was obviously rushing to leave. I quickly showed him the water spots in the ceiling, and led him to the master bath. I explained that I thought it may be the drain overflow. The night prior I had taken a bath and noticed [ a little ] water be sucked down the overflow, and later found the ceiling was wet. Now, I know my way around a bath tub and understand the concept of not filling it up over the overflow plate, and not letting it run over the tub. Duh, right? Well this is where things turned a little misogynistic and Mr. Technician decided to teach this dumb woman how to use a tub properly. He proceeded to tell me "well you can't fill the tub up so high" and "water cannot go down the overflow, that's not what it's for" (incorrect, it serves a couple purposes: catching small amounts of water and cleaning out waste). I asked him, so if water isn't supposed to get in the overflow, why is there an opening? He just kept repeating himself saying it's really for "snaking the drain only". I swear the way he's talking to me he's probably picturing me splashing around in the tub, gallons of water splashing up and out. He opened up the tub access and proceeded to tell me he couldn't see anything and they sprayed foam where he needed to see, so that was that....? What? I'm paying you to look at this and you can't even do that? I get there's foam in there but I'm sure you've seen it before? Can we take some of that out? This is why you're here, sir. I had to ask him to unscrew the overflow and GUESS what. It's loose. And the rubber seal looks like it has seen better days. So, do you think he'd offer to fix? Nope. I said "well I'd like to be able to use my tub?". Literally, "well if you really want me to rip apart your ceiling downstairs to figure it out, I can, but I don't think you'd want that" He also suggests ripping out the tub completely. Really? We go down to the basement to check out sump pump. About this point I was thinking of just telling him to leave. It's hard enough being female, having to deal with people who assume you know nothing about your home, and having to trust these people not to take your money. Luckily, I am rather home savvy. My dad taught me. I do all of the handy work around my home, and I'm proud of it. The sump situation also was a joke. When we bought the house we tested to see if it worked, put water down in the pit and the pump wasn't working, so we unplugged it. I told him this and he literally looks at it. Says he can't open access the sump because it is now sealed (true) due to a radon mitigation system. He sees its unplugged. Plugs it in and... It works. Turns to me.."it was unplugged" I was about to lose it and it was apparent that he was leaving anyway. Ladies and gents. This all happened in a matter of about 10 minutes!
