On 11-24-09, I made an appointment with A1 Elmbrook Electronics late in the evening for them to come out to service my TV in my home.  The following day I tried to cancel the appointment but the telephone number was no longer in service.  The appointment was set up for 10:30 a.m. on 11-27-09.  On 11-27-09, around 11:00 a.m. they called before they came to my house to verify the appointment. At that time, I informed them I wanted to cancel my appointment.  They said I could not cancel my appointment because I did not provided them within 48-hour notice or if I did cancel my appointment that I will still be charged a service call and twenty-five for an estimate.  I informed them that I no longer needed their services and tried calling them but their phone number that I obtained from the telephone book was no longer in service.  He said he does not know how I obtained the phone number listed in the telephone book which is no longer in service and provided me with a different phone number.  I left the house for a doctor's appointment and upon returning home, I had an invoice tape to my window stating that Elmbrook Electronics Inc. would send my invoice to collections if I did not pay by 12/2/09.

In the "Greater Milwaukee Four-County and Vicinity" yellow pages, "A1 Elmbrook Electronics" telephone number listed under "Television Repair & Services" is 262-544-4440.  However in the same phone book, "Elmbrook Electric Company" has the phone number 262-782-1967 but the telephone number they provided me with was 262-789-XXXX and 414-841-XXXX and 414-881-XXXX.

At this time, since I canceled the appointment before they came out to my house, I feel that I do not owe them anything because I did attempt to call and cancel my appointment but the number was no longer in service and I informed them when they contacted me that I wanted to cancel the appointment before they came out to my house.  They are trying to tell me, it is the law that I have to pay because the appointment was not canceled within 48-hours.  Thursday was a holiday and the appointment was canceled within 48-hours or two business days.

So STICK TO the FACTS. If you have a complaint, Then bring it to OUR attention.
We will try to work with you.
Filing a complaint on any website will not gain you our cooperation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The clients name is Elieen .

She initiated contact with Elmbrook Electronics Inc on 11/24/09 via phone number (262) 789-7737 according to our call log. Three days before the service call.  Plenty time to cancel her appointment.
She was informed of all charges.
We are a Business. We are open on Thanksgiving.
She claims ignorance of Wisconsin law. - NO EXCUSE
She Admits to making an appointment for service. In Wisconsin, that is a contract. You are creating an obligation and debt.
We log & record all phone calls for customer service reasons.
We have 24 hour voice mail.
Elieen DID NOT cancel her appointment.
Elieen did not leave for a doctors appointment. She hid inside her apartment and refused to answer the door. The techician and his assistant clearly saw Elieen through the window.
When Elieen refused to answer her door a bill was posted on her window. Pictures were taken of the posting, then technician  and assistant left.
Less than five minutes later, Elieen called the technician, not knowing it was the same technician, to complain about the posting of the bill.
The technician was only two blocks away and returned to Elieen 's apartment. She again refused to answer her door but the posted bill was gone.

Now. I ask you all Who is playing games here ?

What she did do is change her mind about service, at the last minute, minutes before the technician arrived.  After the Technician had traveled some Twenty-two miles to her home. SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for all technicians is to call the client while in route to their home.

Our correct and ONLY phone number since 1974 is (262) 789-7737.  We have no where she got the other phone numbers from.

Elieen , you can email us, google us, go to our website, etc....  We are EASY to Contact.  your story is embarassingly full of excuses.

Elieen , since you chose this course of action, we will use all legal means to collect this bill and turn this matter over for Slander prosecution.

Now we have done what was asked of us. We traveled a long distance, paid a technician and his assistant their hourly wages, Paid for Gasoline, Insurance, Wear & tear on our vehicle.
Call / Email us and tell us we should not be paid in full and why.
In this specific case we charged $64.95 for the trip Plus $25.00 for a non repair as quoted. Total is $116.22.  Our expenses Total $138.50 for the Two men, truck, Fuel, etc.. Just to arrive at the clients home.

Do the math. Without a completed repair, We loose money. Lets see how long you can survive loosing $138.50 or more several, yes SEVERAL times a week when clients do this rude behavior.

Remember:
1.  Please contact us BEFORE posting anything.
2.  Any business is going to have a few bad reports. That does not make it a bad business. This is normal. People will take the time to complain but rarely do they leave positive comments.
3. Nobody can satisfy everyone. How a business handles its difficult customers is a real measure of its character.
4. Dishonest businesses do NOT last for over 38 years, like we have.
5. You can only "ripoff" someone if you took their money and did not give them somthing for it.  In this case, We  were cheated / shortchanged/ Nobody was ripped off.

Management.
Elmbrook Electronics Inc.
