After locating some nice bargains at Abebooks.com -- where all prices are listed as US $$ -- imagine my surprise when my bank, Citi, charged me a 5% "foreign fee" for a transaction processed in Victoria (BC) Canada.

Nothing on the Abebooks.com website openly discloses the fact that payments will be processed through a Canadian bank as a foreign transaction.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amazon.com, there is no reason why this company should be processing American-made payments through a Canadian bank.
