ABEBOOKS.COM shipping overcharge and attempt to divert order to third party , Internet

I attempted to order 6 books through abebooks.com, a Canadian affiliate marketplace. I was attempting to buy through one of their affilliates in Florida. The books were listed on abebooks at $3.49 each with 'FREE SHIPPING'.

2 problems,

1, when creating my account, when I got to the point where I was to add a different address for shipping, the form was prefilled with someone elses info.  If I had not clicked to change my shipping address, my order would have been shipped to someone in Italy!!!

Then when I went to the final checkout screen, the system attempted to charge me $76 for the 'Free' shipping.  Over $12 per $3.49 book.

I emailed them my complaints.  I got back a stock response on the shipping question, that I must not have chosed free shippng items.  On the same books I could have selected copied for $1.99 with 2.49 shipipng each.  No where was there any thing that showed $12 shipping per book, which is what they attempted to charge.

As far as the shipipng address, I got back a personalized email stating they had a clitch that caused the system to show Italy as the default country when entering shipping addresses.  It wasn't just the country, it was an entire Name and Address.  This company is either incompetent or an out and out scam.

I ended up going to the affiliates own web site and purchasing the same books for only $18 total, including shipping.
