Adam Shane Lester is a master of con-artistry. We offered him a place to stay when he arrived in New York in August of 2008 and he accepted. He was told that the rent was $700 a month and he agreed. Every first of the month, he came up with some excuse as to why he didn't have his share. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and helped him out as much as we could.
We issued an eviction notice to him to have him out by February 10th. He assured us he would be ready to move and we trusted that. On Feb. 10th, he told us he was not in a financial state to find anywhere else to live. At that point, he replaced the door knob to his room with an actual dead-bolt. He has been living somewhere else, but has continued to keep his room locked with all of his belongings. The past month or two, he has made a few surprise visits to pick up a few things.
Not only are we NOT getting rent from him, but we can't even rent out his old room to someone who will pay rent because we can't get into his room. He is a clown for children's parties and should not be trusted with them because we found out later, that he's been using what was supposed to be his rent money to fund his marijuana habit. I seriously doubt any parent would want a clown for their children's parties who is constantly smoking marijuana.

I am no master of con-artistry. I was in fact offered a place to stay when BEFORE I arrived to New York in August of 2008. The advertised rent rate was $750. at that time - I ended up paying $750. which was more than my share of rent. The rent was suppose to total $1,800. of which was suppose to be paid three ways amongst all roommates. The lessor (Bill) was actually making profit off of the rent as he was traveling for work by sub-leasing all the rooms out. The management company was not made aware of anyone sub-leasing any of the rooms, when in fact the rooms were rented out to at least 5 different people during my time there - hence a lease was not present with the management company therefore, legally forfeiting any "existing sub-lease".

I was served an "eviction notice" of sorts via email from (Bill) the lessor through (Justin) whom was renting a room from Bill for many months without payment for rent. Apparently, Justin still owes Bill for a laptop Bill purchased for him a year ago. I replaced the door knob with a normal locking door knob. Justin then broke into my bedroom when I wasn't home and stole several personal items which caused me to feel unsafe, so I installed a dead bolt on my bedroom door ensuring my own safety and the safety of my personal belongings.

Justin purchased about $200. every week in marijuana when I was there and has more of an addiction to marijuana than anyone I've ever met! - Literally! I do not smoke any such items due to my asthma condition.
Only a fool would do such a thing. It's funny how people try to smear your name when they feel bad about themselves or have low self-esteem, and want to take their anger out on innocent people.
