Adams Rental Crooks at ADAMS RENTAL? You decide. ripoff Littleton Colorado

My story about Adams Rental and a salesman named Dave.

I was rented a tow dolly with a brand new winch on it, or so I was told.

I started to winch up a rolling chassis with no eng or trans in it and the inside of the winch handle stripped before the front tires even touched the ramp.

I took the handle off and noticed that it was not the right size handle for the winch (I am currently an ASE Certified Master Auto Technician with an Engineering degree, so I know a little about mechanical things).

It cost me $40 cash to get a tow operator to help me load the chassis because I could not load it by pushing it myself.

I asked that $40 be taken off my bill because the handle was obviously not the right one for the winch. Adams Rental refused and told me that I was just lucky I did not have to pay for the new $25 handle (the one that DID fit the winch).

So I insisted to pay for the new handle because they thought it was my fault, I just asked for the old handle in exchange.

Dave the salesman asked, "Why? Are you going to take us to court?"
I simply stated that if I bought the new handle for them that it was only fair that I recieved the old handle.

Dave stated that he would not give me the old handle because, "if we get hauled into court, the old handle will dissapear".

I insisted that I would come down and pay for the new handle..

Now Dave is telling me that there is no way he will ever charge me for the new handle because he will never give me the old one.

HMMMMMMM, why do you think they would NOT charge me for the handle after I began insisting on paying for it? After all, I did sign a contract saying that I would pay for any damage incurred while the dolly was in my possession.

Are they CROOKS that rent substandard equipment and don't care about it breaking down on their customers? And then blame their customers for it breaking down and not making it right?

By the way, I was an idiot for patronizing them in the first place because they skinned me for $88 to rent a tow dolly that UHAUL will rent for $39.99 a day.
