During the last three plus years, I have had Internet provided to me by Advnet [aka Advanced Net] ISP. This was the only high speed internet provider in my area for many years. Touting 400k speed connection for $50 a month.

I had asked that if the speed went down below the contracted speed would they be purchasing more bandwidth. They assured me it would be the case upon installation. For the first 6 months I actually got almost a 1 meg connection.

Then after the speed went down 400k and below to almost less then dial-up speed. Over Time I had complained about it to them. I had inquired if they would be purchasing more bandwidth. The Technician looked up my account and said that I was getting 400k at peek time and there was not problem he could see of not getting 400k connection at all. This deception of getting what you paid for went on for many years.

During the time I was a subscriber the Wireless 900mH Unit I had to rent per month died and I lost my connection. I had called Tech support about this problem and was told that is was my computer that had the problem and not their equipment. Well this went on for two weeks until I took the unit to them and had them replace it. Mind you it was on the second floor of my house on a pole. After getting the unit I had to put it back up and set its direction. The tech wanted a service fee to come and remount it. This fixed the none connection, but not the slow internet connection.

Now many years later AT&T U-verse with 45meg connection is here, I canceled the Advnet service. Expecting them to at least in a timely manner of 30 days to settle my account with them and get a refund for paying months in advance for their service. I have yet to receive a phone call, a refund check, or a technician to come out and get their equipment. I have left messages with them sating it has been now over 60 days. All I have got from them is one phone call from a tech stating to call them back at their number.

If you choose to use their services, be for warned that they believe they are always right and not the customer, even with proof, and canceling any ISP service they provide is going to COST you time and money to get any refund due you back from them at all.
