On July 4, 2015, I contacted an Alice Kurchner via e-mail noahava083@gmail.com who was selling SeaDoos on Craigslist and that person contacted me back via text that same day stating they would e-mail me more information. On July 5th, the person wrote back stating the SeaDoos and trailer were in Clinton, MO and that the deal would be handled by the eBay Buyer Protection Program. The email also stated the shipping & handling would be free because a previous buyer had already paid for it. I sent my name, shipping address (a business), and my husband's phone number to this person. On July 6th around approximately 8:15 am, I was sent a link to what appeared to be an eBay URL, so I could complete the purchase. Everything appeared to be appropriate for an eBay Buyer Protection purchase, so I completed the form and completed the sale. The only thing left to do was to submit the money to what I thought was eBay. Around 8:30 am, that same day, my husband received a call from someone stating to be from eBay motors 858-429-9163 and said that we had 48 hours to submit the money in order to finalize the purchase, which I didn't find out about until much later. Anyway, four $500 PayPal cash cards were purchased and entered in to the eBay link to complete the transaction. An e-mail was sent stating the SeaDoos would be delivered on July 9th. Since my husband and I were going out-of-town for more than a week, we wanted the SeaDoos delivered to the marina we use and are friends with the owner so he could evaluate the purchase before the money was to be sent to the seller. We called on July 9th or 10th and found out the SeaDoos hadn't arrived yet, so I sent an email to the seller to state the SeaDoos hadn't arrived, but never heard anything. After we returned home, on July 17th, we went to the marina and found out the SeaDoos never arrived. I sent a text to the number I had, but never received an answer. After calling eBay, I found out my husband and I had been victims of a scam and have lost $2,000.
