My son purchased a scooter from Alite Scooters using a credit card he obtained in my name. I have sent them a copy of the police report and court's disposition in my case. They refuse to accept the fact that my son purchased it and not me. They assumed originally that my son, Jeff, was my husband. They refuse to take the scooter back (shipping at their expense). I was told by Alite Scooters that I have to pay the $500 shipping. They consider it used even though it has never been driven. The scooter container has been opened. It has never been driven or even sat upon. It is sitting in my shed waiting to be returned. They say people have to be 18 years of age to purchase from their website. They are also supposed to report fraudulent purchases to the credit card company that was charged. They have not done that. I have done all that I can do to get them to take the scooter back. I'm at my wit's end.

You ask what's wrong with disputing the charge...

I'll tell you what's wrong - SHE HAS THE MERCHANDISE IN HER POSSESSION!!!!

Pay to have the merchanside shipped back, and then charge/sue your son for the costs. Problem solved.

What's wrong with disputing the charge?

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (U.S.A.)

Since the purchase was made by a fraudulent charge on a credit card, why don't you just dispute the charge with the card company? You should only be responsible for a maximum of $50 if your card was used fraudulently.
