After purchasing my home, I was contacted by an individual stating he was with Mastercard working in connection with Ameritrust Financial Services. As he continued on with his presentation he told me that I had been pre-approved for a Mastercard with a $2000. credit limit. When I questioned him regarding a fee, he stated that there would be no fee - that he was with Master Card and they do not charge a fee for their credit cards. He stated that this was a new promotion they were offering to help new homeowners establish and rebuild credit. Past credit problems was exactly what got me pre-approved. As the presentation went on he offered me the opportunity to have $200 charged to my card with $300 in credit vouchers sent to me in the first 30 days - so that I could pay off the $200 right away or use the vouchers over a 6 month period to help establish a positive history with Mastercard. After I agreed to sign up for the program the young man told me that my new credit card would be mailed to me within 7 - 14 business days but could take up to 30 days. I agreed and thought nothing more of it. After waiting the 30 days for my new credit card to come in and not receiving anything - I called the number that the young man had given me and found out that on May 9, 2008 Ameritrust Financial Services was going to be debiting my account $200, when I informed the young lady on the phone that I never agreed to this and that I wanted to speak with her supervisor, she placed me on hold and a supervisor by the name of Tanesha, operator id 0002, came on the line and informed me that I had agreed to this $200 fee to be withdrawn from my bank account and that there is nothing that I could do about it now. After several requests to speak with her supervisor or even the president of the company, Tanesha told me that there was no one other than her that I could speak with. When I requested information on the Corporate Headquarters mailing address and telephone number, I was given a po box and teh same 866 number that I originally called in on.

After this conversation I went online to see what I could find on Ameritrust Financial, and wouldn't you know - there were thousands and thousands of complaints filed regarding fraud. I immediately contacted my bank to inform them that I refuse to pay this and requested that they not pay the $200 that was sceduled to come out of my account. I called Tanesha back immediately and requested the card be cancelled. She agreed and stated that I would not be charged a cancellation fee at all. I informed her that I would be taking my complaint to the BBB, the FCC & also filing complaints with every media personality I could possibly think of.

It's amazing to me that with our economy in the condition that it is in - how our government can allow such fraudulant activity to continue. I risk the possiblity of losing everything I have worked hard for - because some scam artists decide to kick individuals when there down with the hope of helping bring them up.

They didn't provide the service? You didn't authorize it? Wow you were looking for a card to pay your BILLS, not to rebuild your credit? Who is trying to defraud who here. This is NOT an application for a new job. You should know this from the purchase of your home.( as stated ) If you needed any kind of fund's for the sole fact to stay afloat you should of tried to get a line of credit through your original provider. Again that might not be an option for you, do to the fact on your credit report. Since you have a home if the bank did not approve you for the loan, you would of asked for your application fee back right? ( but they don't) and when you close it come's out for settlement.
