The scam is actually fairly smart. I pulled inot a parking garage and the gate arm was open. In my experience this means no tickets, no fees for whatever reason. As I pull ou tof the garage the same guy that watched me pull in asked for my ticket. I tell him that the gate was open already. He looks at the gate and says it is not open now. Since I have no ticket he tells me to pay $10. What a clever deal. I have no way to prove that I simply drove in and never got a ticket so they can simply call me a liar and assume that I lost my ticket. AMPCO has been running this scam for some time as it happen to me a few years ago but until the 2nd time I did not see that the pattern was no error but now I know it is an ongoing scam by AMPCO and its employees.
