Angelos Italian Restaurant Deceptive Advertising Refused to Honor Coupon Tavares Florida

This restaurant advertises a $25 coupon on their website, requires patron to pay $10 upon arrival with a minimum $35 purchase, saving a total of $15. There is NO mention of holidays being excluded. We arrived with 4 persons in our party on Mothers Day 5/11/08, only to be told by the waitress that they would not honor it.

Restaurant said they posted a sign on the front window that no coupons would be honored that day. That is bait and switch, false and deceptive advertising. I have copies of everything, including the coupon that was presented along with a photo of the sign they posted in the window.

I filed a complaint with BBB, restaurant responded with a copy of some other coupon that a patron had apparently purchased in advance from Restaurant.com, not even close to the same coupon we used. To verify the coupon in question, one may visit their website, click on the "new $25 dinner certificate", and it will be obvious there is no mention of holidays. That is of course, if they don't hurry and get their webmaster to change it!

Waitress said on that day alone 3 other groups had walked out due to the same issue. Strange thing for a restaurant to allow during hard economic times. I plan on pursuing this as far as possible in order to show this owner he cannot just post a sign on the window to call it quits on his advertising.
