I have always wanted a bengal cat, and I feel like I did my homework before I purchased one. I felt that the best looking bengals were at Anjali Bengals in Indianapolis. The breeder at Anjali bengals is Dana McLean Scott. I purchased a kitten from her because she seemed honest and caring. I purchased my kitten in the fall of 2011 and Dana was always available to talk with me prior to the sale of the kitten - but that all changed after I received the kitten. The carrier arrived with a lethargic kitten, gummy buggery eyes and nose and diarrhea inside the carrier. I was horrified. I immediately called Dana and her voicemail recorder my angry tirade. Dana sold me a very sick kitten and refused to stand behind her contract. The kitten had a very bad case of ear mites as well, and - explosive diarrhea. Lots of vet bills! My veterinarian was stumped by the diarrhea and Dana would not return my many emails and phone calls. I really was stressed by the fact that Dana would not even help me to find out what was wrong with my kitten. Eventually my veterinarian ordered a special lab test of the diarrhea and he determined that my kitten had Giardia. The veterinarian said that Giardia is a parasite that effects cats and dogs - usually in kitten or puppy mills. Do not believe the lies that Dana tells you to get you to buy a kitten. Maybe there are some happy customers who bought from Anajali bengals but I am definitely not happy. To date she has not helped me, not apologized or even acknowledged the problem.

couldn't be

Just took delivery of the most exceptional animal ever! I've never purchased a being before. I've adopted and and rescued many over the years and considered myself an activist to a degree. Over many years of doing what I can, I finally decided to look into a companion that would fit with what little I have to offer full time. This type pet fills all. My research led me to Dana and Anjali. Everything promised was received and I could not be happier.

Threaten and intimidate

The reason for my anonymity is obvious. Dana has offered a reward for my name, and she has a lawyer waiting to sue me for speaking up about the sick cat I received. I already have too much money and emotion invested in this situation. I have reason to fear the wrath of Dana and I really cannot afford to defend myself against a frivolous lawsuit. I have spent more than $1,500 on veterinary bills. If Dana really cared she would have offered to settle the dispute with me instead of enlisting lawyers and offering a $500 reward for someone to serve me up.
I wish Dana had spent her time trying to help me with the sick kitten that she sent me. The reader of this post is free to believe Dana who has shown herself to be a threatening and intimidating cat breeder, or consider that I have not threatened anyone - I simply would like others to know that I was not treated fair and felt ripped off. If Dana was an ethical breeder she would try to make things right, not issue threats and intimidation.
I have moved on, and this is all I will say about this situation. By the way, my cat is healthy, happy and doing great now. Not that you asked or cared.

I would respectfully ask that the author of the original post reveal their name. Why be anonymous if you claim to have bought a kitten from me? I would also ask why this is being posted a year later if the situation was so dire in the fall of 2011. I will investigate the source of this lie.

This report is a complete lie

My name is Dana Scott of Anjali Bengals. This report is a complete lie. I have not sold a kitten to Phoenix, AZ and have never been contacted about a sick kitten. I do not send my kittens out sick and would never do such a thing. We have a small in-home cattery that we started in 2006. Our reputation is stellar worldwide and this report is laughable. I suspect this was written by another bengal breeder. Unfortunately, there are breeders that consider their cats to be a commodity instead of family members as we do and are threatened by breeders that do things in the right way. These breeders go out of their way to ruin the reputation of ethical breeders such as myself - in an attempt to increase their kitten sales. We breed quality, not quantity here at Anjali. I would always stand behind my contract which has a comprehensive health guarantee and would be happy to provide references for any and all pet families and breeders who have purchased my kittens. I can be reached at info@anjalibengals.com if anyone would like further information about our breeding program.
