I got a postcard today in the mail that shows a return address of P.O. Box 65175, Sterling, VA 20165-8810. Sent First-Class Mail U.S. Postage Paid Dulles, VA Permit 156.

The postcard says on the backside:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Welcome to AOL,

We're happy to have you as a member of the world's #1 online service and want you to get the most out of your service.

Important Membership Notice:

This notice confirms that you have elected to have your monthly AOL Service charged to the phone number for this address.

If you would like to change to another billing method, please visit Keyword: BILLING.

If you have any questions regarding your AOL membership, please call our 24-hour customer service departments at 1-866-499-3578.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a scam. I never signed up for AOL. I have Internet service with another provider. The postcard is addressed to "AOL Customer" so I know they don't even have my real name in their database. I suspect that they want me to call them so they can phish my phone number and try to get personal information from me to steal my identity.

I will ignore this postcard and monitor my accounts for any suspicious activity. That's all I can do for now. I won't call these scammers that's for sure.
