I am very frustrated with the Arden B return policy. I brought a shirt at an Arden B store I tried to return the shirt with in 7 days. I was unaware of the strict return policy because it was recently changed a few months ago. Also, the employee in the store did not state the return policy when I purchased the shirt.
I was unable to return the shirt sooner because I was out of town for work. There is a very limited amount of Arden B stores around so I was not able to return the shirt in the state (Delaware) I was in during that time. This return policy is ridiculous because it does not give consumers enough time to return items.
The affiliate store Wet Seal offers returns for a refund with in 21 day. I don't understand why Arden B store return policy is so different if the stores are associated with each other. With this return policy, Arden B is creating a lot of unsatisfied customers. Allowing a customer to return an item if it's not to far off the return policy guideline with a notable excuse would satisfy these customers.
Now, this strict return policy is producing dissatisfied customers who do not want to do business with Arden B again. With this economy, I would think Arden B would want to draw customers to the stores rather than away. If you do not think this policy is causing a bad ripple effect for Arden B, than Google Arden B return policy. This will show you links to many complaints and blogs on this strict policy.
Additionally, the customer service at Arden B is terrible. After I attempted to return an item, I left my phone number for the District Manager to contact me. After I received no response, I went to the mall to speak with the District Manager. She stated that she was unable to assist me with my problem because the Vice President set the strict rules.
I asked for an email, phone number, or address to speak with the Vice President. Then, she stated it was no way to voice my complaint to the Vice President because the complaint will just come back to her. Therefore, I contacted the Customer Service phone number. I left my information for the manager and received no response.
If the Vice President is the one who set the rules, she should here the complaints from customers. It seems I am going in circles just trying to voice my complaint. The return policy and customer service is the worst I've ever seen especially for this line of business.

What large company and/or corporation do you know of that has a Vice President who fields petty customer service phone calls? To expect and then to later complain that you never heard from the Vice President and couldnt get their number is absoluting ridiculous.
Hmmm I think, if I'm upset with Delta Airlines for their flight attendant spilling a drink on me, I'll call their headquarters and request to speak with the Vice President of the company. I'm sure he/she will speak with me, they cant be that busy can they? Dont they care about their customer!? - That my friend is nieve and just plain dumb.

Return Policies are created strictly for very justifyable reasons. I've worked in retail and can not explain how many different fun and exciting lies people come up with in order to return merchandise they've already worn for a night out or a trip out of town (coincidence?). If you sincerely were returning this product without prior use, then you can blame your fellow shoppers for using and abusing the privelage of purchasing product and for causing return policies to be so strict. It's quite sad; I know.
You made a statement about not being told the return policy at the time of purchase. As a consumer that is YOUR responsibility to examine the return policy prior to purchasel it is the company's responsibility to have the return policy accessible to you if requested or when purchasing product. Also, with most retail stores, the company's return policy is stated clearly on the back of the receipt for easy review.
